Barkov's shot, especially 1-T, is very good and very underrated and he's years ahead in breakaways etc. McDavid gets more chances but if you give same amount of chances to both, i think Barky would win easily. Weird that everyone votes McD here.

Barkov scored at a 38 goals paceover 82 games

McDavid scored at a 45.5 goals pace over 82 games

This past season (the reason OP started this thread), Barkov shot 4% above his career shooting average. McDavid shot 1% under his career shooting average.

McDavid is a better goalscorer than Barkov.

one year where Barkov scored at a sliiiiiiiightly better pace than McDavid with an elevated shooting percentage doesn't move the needle enough to overcome the evidence we have over previous years.

It's a 2 goals difference over 82 games lol, stop pretending like Barkov's pace was so much better

Barkov is a great player, but McDavid has him beat in goalscoring

Barkov is a great player...but it takes a Herculean amount of cherrypicking to frame him as a better goal scorer than McDavid. Barkov having a single season where his goals per game was higher than McDavid's does not move the needle.

I'll go with the one who has scored more goals in way fewer games in his career so far and the only one of the two that has topped 40 goals(three times).......McDavid.

I can ask more than one question. This is a magnifying glass to the original question anyway. It’s completely related. Besides, we all know Barkov is world class on breakaways. To say you’d rather face Barkov 1 on 1, proves that you are being dishonest.

Barkov is not the player he was 5 years ago. I’m surprised he has come this far in the eyes of fair weather fans fulll of commentary about how he isn’t any good at this or that. Why is he elite, if he’s not elite at shooting lol. But he’s not elite at defense either. He’s elite for no reason, and you’d all rather face McDavid than Barkov in a shootout is the cherry on top. This thread is going to be a big mirror that I hope you’re all ready to face when Barkov out scores McDavid this season.
