Over the last couple lists we have gotten away from following the strict HF criteria guidelines as to who is considered a prospect. Normally its if you play 65 NHL games you are no longer a prospect (45 for goalies) or turns 24 (3 years after signing contract for NCAA players 22 years old or older).

We would have several players, if we follow the criteria, who are just considered as "graduated" so I'm making the poll to see which players you want kept on, at least for this ranking, this would be their last time on the list if we keep them.

The Summer Prospect List will start next Saturday after the draft is completed.

Boo Nieves is considered now graduated, he was granted permission to stay on the last list. Can someone confirm whether or not Virta and Meskanen are still Ranger property.

I voted keep Chytil and Howden. I'd like to see a complete list with all the young players, even if they barely passed the criteria.

I'm removing everyone because I still follow the HF guidelines.

Also, Bigras is an RFA and may not be qualified.

John Gilmour is a UFA, and even if you considered him still a prospects, he's not our property at the moment.

Thanks, depending on whether or not we re-sign them i'll keep/remove them depending on results (which i assume will be to remove them anyway)

Also, with the HF standard, Georgiev would also be gone by virtue of his 43 games played. Which I agree with--he got a cup of coffee two seasons ago and last year he played 33 games, which is full-time backup territory. I would consider him graduated as well.

Goalies is 45 games, so he barely makes it.

My only advice there would be to just wait a bit. The deadline to qualify RFA's is June 25th or the first Monday after the Draft. The Draft ends the 22nd and therefore the RFA's must be qualified by Monday, June 24th. This also affects Julius Bergman, Lettieri, Nell, and Halverson, who (except for Lettieri, IMO) are unlikely to be qualified and therefore wouldn't be our prospects.

Lastly , if we're not abiding by the games played requirement you could also make an argument that Brendan Lemieux is a prospect, as he is 23 almost all of next year and currently has 72 games to his credit.

The first week will be all the top prospects anyway, so the RFAs wouldn't even be voted into the poll for a week or 2 anyway, plus i'm really iching to get the poll started

Ah you're right! I should have added Lemieux...let me see if I can change the poll..

For sure. Particularly if people vote to keep guys like Howden and Chytil on there, when you add in our draft picks, it's going to be one of the most interesting polls in memory, IMO.

Absolutely! Will easily be our most impressive list ever.

Not that it matters, he who goes through the trouble of making the polls gets my vote on however he wants to run them.

Yet many who are going to be considered graduated by games played, I do feel are still prospects.

Thanks for this! DeAngelo and Pionk werent included in the last list, i think we did a poll and they were shot down. Lettieri is still eligible since he signed his first contract out of the NCAA at 22 and according to the criteria he gets 3 years after that point or 65 games (Unless i'm misunderstanding it).

Yeah Lettieri is 100% not graduated, it was just an auto-fill error when typing that in Excel. My bad again. LOL.

I agree with nyr2k2. Let's stick to the HF standard, and if we want, we can make a separate poll to rank our graduated/younger players like Chytil, Lias, etc.

Lias isnt graduated. We have had exceptions in recent polls, which is why the poll was created.

Howden and chytil barely passed the mark to be considered graduated. I’m hope to see them in the Ranking one last time around.
