Deep in the Purple jungles of BC
Just breaking up the monotony of winning ;)
Throwing a change up , you could even say ...

Who’s that guy ? Who’s the one ?

Who’s that one player from the today’s NHL , that you would add going into the playoffs , that you would say without a shadow of a doubt hey .....
That’s it we win it all ! And lets plan the parade route finally !

And or ...

And if you could bring back a player from the past Leafs teams , your choice would be ?

mans why ?

mine would be
Kopitar
Best Centre Ice in the league ..

And or

Salming
Just because ....

Maybe not plan any victories beforehand, but I get your point . . .
Shouldn't everyone's answer be Connor McDavid?

Hmm, maybe it's more "realistically a possibility" speaking. Before Campbell it would have been a goalie, but now I'll say

Nick Foligno

Prime Gretzky?

Seriously nobody would make me comfortable to think it a certainty

EDIT: Since the OP changed I’ll say Sundin for past leaf. For team missing the playoffs (probably) I’d pay a kings ransom to add Kane 50% retained.

I’ve altered it a bit for fun
I know , thx for stating those things ...
Good one

Patrick Kane or Hedman

Having Marner Kane Hyman Nylander as wingers around JT and Matthews would pretty much be unstoppable. I think I would take a 1-2 punch like that as our top 2 lines over another center. Just way too much offensive power and possession.

It's rare to choose wingers in this type of scenario of course, but assuming they'd play their actual positions, my other pick would be Bergeron down the middle

Could also run 2 disgusting power play units

#4 from the mists of time.

From today's NHL, Sid, he can still play, he's still one of the smartest guys in the league, he's been there, done it and understands what needs to happen to lift the mug. Playing the LW with the double M's would be absolutely criminal. Nobody would be able to stop them.

If there is one player the Leafs can bring in and we all go, Leafs will win it all. That player has to be Vas. As good as Campbell, Vas is on another level.

As for past TDL addition Leafs- Leetch
Past Leafs-Sundin, he can do it all, in a way, he is Willie on steroid, better shot, better zone entry, better passer, better Defence, better faceoff....
Past NHLer-Lidstorm.

Current NHLer : Victor Hedman
Past NHLer : Nicklas Lidstrom
Past Leaf : Wendel Clark

A 25 minute a night elite 1A defensemen gets us closer to the cup than any other player. That said, if I'm bringing back a past Leaf it has to be Wendel.

Scott Laughton. This team is loaded, they don't need a big name. I'd rather have a true 3C on the team and then have Nash as 4th C. That gives you lots of options to play guys like Kerfoot on the wing and Thornton out of the lineup. I love 97 but I don't think he's good enough right now to warrant a spot in the playoffs.

In hypotheticals, I want Crosby. Proven winner, can make players better.

Anyone in the league... I have to agree with the consensus here, in Hedman. Replacing Rielly, and being able to play strong defense would be huge.

All time.. that's difficult. I'm older than most here, but still didn't see the Leafs glory years either, so anybody pre-70's I can't comment on. CuJo stole a lot of games for us, and we could really use that type of goaltending, although Campbell has been solid too... but a CuJo/Campbell would be very solid. Sundin would be hard to turn down at this point too. Imagine Sundin/Matthews/Marner together... LOL If I'm going with D, can I take the Turnbull/Salming pairing?

Current player: Hedman
Former Leaf: Horton or Salming
Former player: Lidstrom

Three guesses what I think is our weak spot.
