With Kane signing in Detroit and Toews now 8 months away from the game, but leaving a return open when he stepped away, who calls, trying to add him before the deadline??

Vegas? They’ve been way too quiet. Which means they’ll probably announce Hanifin tomorrow, just to play with the rest of the league.

Leafs?? Think it might be a good fit. Can they convince him?

Canucks? They’d love to add a Toews obviously. Bringing his experience to that group.

NJ? Same as Canucks. Could help them learn to win, when it counts.

Rangers?? Another good, solid fit.. Wins important face offs, and can take some of the pressure off their Top 6, playing in a secondary, bottom six role?

Colorado? Another good fit. Same as Leafs and Rangers

Edmonton? Not sure he’d want it, but he could really help.

Boston? Makes lots of sense.

Detroit? Wouldn’t that be something?? Think they’ll be all over Stamkos and a dman though..

Teams are going to call. He’s too good of a fit, not to call. Maybe some already have. The question is, does he answer??

He can obviously help a team, and it costs nothing but money. Is that drive there, enough for him to take a bonus contract, or small AAV?

Lol Toews in a Canucks jersey would never happen, I'd like to have him as a defensively responsible 4C but I think he'd be too loyal to the old Hawks to join a rival team of that time, obviously the hate isn't that bad now but between 2008-2013 the rivalry was intense.

If he does come back I could see Vegas, Colorado, Boston. Unless I'm mistaken the Leafs could also use a defensive 3C?
Edmonton could use him but they have no cap space, not sure he'd sign there anyway.
Dark horse team Florida? or maybe Detroit if they are firmly in the playoffs at the deadline?

I can see the leafs offering him a 1.5x1 to play a defensive 3c role. They have some firmiliar faces in McCabe and domi.

Leafs also have a bit of cap space now that klingberg is on LTIR

Nah, not a fan. Let him retire a Hawk. It’s already weird enough seeing Patrick Kane playing for Detroit. I think it will be too weird seeing Toews playing for someone else, my eyes won’t ever be able to get used to it lol.

Could see Washington interested if they're still in the playoff picture come Jan/Feb, especially if Kuznetsov continues to crater. Put him at 3C behind Strome and McMichael. Washington has trouble putting pucks in the net so if Toews can help keep pucks out of the net he could be useful.

Not sure he'd want to sign here though, he may want to play for a team that's guaranteed to make the playoffs and is a legitimate contender.

He’s not coming back this season.

Next season and the earliest, and I doubt that.

Kings. Kopitar, Danault, and Toews down the middle is a playoff nightmare.

I’d rather him 4C the Leafs at 1-1.5mil and get rid of Kampf at 2.4. Then replace Reaves 1.3 with Perry at 800k
