I do wonder if Anaheim would. They could really use a high end scorer.
Good lord I hope not.

Granted, they've got a long way to go before him disappearing in the playoffs becomes an issue, but paying him that much for that long would really screw up PV's rebuild. They really do need a high end scorer very badly, but his cost & term would badly hurt the upcoming contracts that all the homegrown young guns are going to want over the next few years (assuming that they get out from under Cronin & actually develop into the high end players that they should be...). With Marner setting the tone, I doubt they can afford all of them.

He's got 50 points in 57 playoff games. Not quite as good as his regular season stats, but hardly a bust. I think any of the big cap space teams could do a lot worse than signing Marner.
People are really basing his lack of playoff ability on a single series from last season's playoffs. He had 14 points in 11 games the year before.

Nylander, Matthews, and Tavares were also below a ppg last playoffs, with Tavares having 2 points in seven games. Matthews was injured and Boston shut the whole team down offensively. Marner became the scapegoat.

I could definitely see him in Detroit, possibly Columbus or Calgary. Buffalo would be a sneaky fit… trade some of that high end youth they’ve been stockpiling, like Peterka, Quinn, Cozens, Byram, Power to address other needs and bring in an established elite player - instead of 1 or 2 of the potentially elite players - to play with Tage and Dahlin. Washington is an interesting fit. I could see Colorado being interesting if Rantanen leaves. Marner and Mackinnon could be lethal too. Vegas always seems to be in on these. Seattle would be interesting as he would be the main attraction there.
Wolf looking NHL ready has really hampered the Flames ability to rebuild through the draft. They also have the second most cap space, with more on the way.

I could see them signing Marner. The owners will be pressuring Conroy to be better. Obviously, that move will bring out the trolls. At the end of the day, how do you succeed in rebuilding through the draft, when a potential franchise goalie comes out of the organization? Do you trade Wolf to be better in the draft? Then spend a decade scrambling for a goalie?

Oilers love recycled leafs!

Mcdavid bouch marner signings on July 1st would be hilarious.
Getting more top heavy is not the route the Oilers should take. With Bouchard and Draisaitl raises next year, the Oilers are already going to get to fill out their roster with league minimum contracts. How on Earth do they afford another $13 million contract.

Chicago could. More than enough cap room, and in desperate need of top line wingers.

I think the Blues make a pitch. They have a lot of young talent that should be breaking into the league during the contract so they could add him and not blow up the roster.

How about performance based, $1MM for every playoff point Mitch scores?

Would be $6.25MM AAV last 8 years in the playoffs

Mackinnon would be $14.25 his 8 years in the playoffs and he doesn’t make $13MM

Montréal have seen enough from Bitch Marner and knows better than to give him such an atrocious Contract

Great player, who disappears when it gets tough
Nobody should pay him above 10M, you're getting f***ed if you pay one cent over that

Giving $13m to a playoff disappointment would be such a Rangers move. I hope it happens.

Gunna guess Dubas is in on this for PIT too
I'm not saying Rangers should, but elite players cost money. Also, you have to make playoff to advance. Unless you have drafted players, it's hard to find UFA, elite talent that won't cost.

I doubt that Marner will get 13M a season for that length of contract.

While it might be desirable to lock him up to a seven year deal I think teams are getting wary of that length of contract.

Having said that, a team like Calgary might offer a 5 or 6 year deal at that rate.

I fully expect the Flyers to try something stupid as soon as they have the money to do so, but I don’t think they’ll have said money unless they make some moves before the deadline to facilitate.
