In keeping with previous years I plan on limiting the poll options to players who

a) have a decent shot at making the Rangers
b) are Calder eligible by NHL standards.

As such, Pionk and DeAngelo are ineligible.

If you believe none of the listed players will play the NHL season, vote for who you think has the best AHL season.

Because empirical studies show that being placed at the top of the ballot impacts voting in low-information elections, I will place players with likely lower votes on top.

I think you'd have to put the best odds on Chytil at this point, though there are so many variables.

I personally would not be the least bit surprised to see everyone but Georgiev spend the majority of the season in Hartford, or at least a sizable chunk.

I also wouldn't find it to be a total shocker to see Georgiev there as well to get a lot more playing time.

I voted for Chytil because he SHOULD have the best rookie season, but I'm 100% expecting Andersson to come in and be a better fit straight away.

As such it was a bit of a toss up, so I went with the higher upside/pure talent.

It may also depend on how we define best.

Let's assume that both Andersson and Chytil make the jump --- they could play very different roles.

Chytil could put up more points, and see additional power play time.

Andersson could be used in more diverse situation, and see additional PK time.

Chytil edges Andersson as the best bet of the skaters.

Georgiev is a bit of a wild card, but I went with Chytil over him too; and I think Andersson would be ahead of him as well.

I think Georgiyev will be up and down between NHL and AHL.

Its probably going to be either Chytil or Andersson. I think Chytil's more skilled style of game is better suited for success in his rookie year, and I also think he's the better hockey player of the two. I expect both to be top 9 forwards though.

Chytil. But Andersson will have a very nice rookie season as well. I don't see any of the other skaters getting more than a cup of tea for a few games during the season. Their shot will be the 19-20 season unless they blow everyone away in camp.

I used similar logic for why I chose Georgiev, and I’m viewing a successful season as solidifying an NHL role. I think we’ll see Chytil and Lias bounce around between Hartford and NY, so I don’t think they’ll have set roles throughoutbthis season. However, I can see Georgiev beating out Tokarski and earning the spot as Hank’s backup. I also expect to see him improve on his strong finish from last year.

At the AHL level, I’d expect Chytil to have better scoring numbers after his strong play last season.
