I think Demidov would go a lot lower than fans on the internet seem to think. He went fifth for a reason. And it wasn’t Michkov type reasons. NHL teams simply didn’t think he was as good as fans do. Not saying that’s right, but dude is not going ahead of any of the top 4 in this draft.

Based on who I think the team would draft if given the choice.

1. SJS Celebrini. No brainer.

2. CHC Hagens. They like Levshunov but Hagens has too much talent to leave on the table at this stage of their rebuild.

3. ANA Martone.They love Senneke but Martone is just a better prospect at the same role. Misa would be hotly debated but Martone ticks the boxes the ducks look for.

4. CBJ Misa. No injury issues and they get a potentially elite centre.

5. MTL Demidov. Looks like a stud so MTL would be very happy to keep him. Doubt he goes earlier even with teams seeing him perform in the KHL.

6. UTA Senneke. They were hot for him at the draft and take him here now that they have the opportunity.

7. OTT Yakemchuk. I think they stick with Yakemchuk. He looks like he will be a great player and fills a need for them. Schaefer would be debated but they take the RD.

8. SEA Schaefer. They take Schaefer who could easily go earlier if it wasn't for his recent injury. Great value pick here.

9. CGY Levshunov. I think they stick with a RD but go with Levshunov. Parekh still could be the choice here.

10. NJD Desnoyers. This is the hardest pick to determine. Lots of D options available which they need but I think they take the next best player. 6'2 C/W smart and hard worker who can play as a complementary wing in their top 6.

For me, the top 10 of 2025 is strong but the cut in terms of talent is wider after that.
