I want to buy a Curtis Joseph jersey from his days in Toronto or St. Louis. I also want Ovechkin's Caps rookie home jersey. I know i can buy them used on eBay and they also have replicas but does anybody know if they still sell the original jersey's?

It seems that there are two sites that use “custom throwback” in their name.

www.customthrowbackjerseys.com is the site I used to get my wife’s 2010 Bruins Winter Classic jersey. It wasn’t the Reebok Edge, but I knew that going in. It was a CCM made in Canada and I was satisfied with the quality. Name, number, and Winter Classic patch. All good.

I would recommend them and I would use them again.

If you want good jerseys, don’t use this cheap knock off garbage.

-Pretty simple. All anyone has to do is go to youtube, run a simple search, and watch a few of the 1000s of reviews of people unboxing these jerseys from their received shipment. Its not authentic, but the quality is far better then you think.

Yeah I’m calling bull shit on this because I collect jerseys and I used to work at a hockey retail store that specialized in memorabilia.

Those 20 dollar China jerseys are not only crap to look at (often the colours are often extremely off, large bubbles on logo and fonts) the quality is laughable.

It’s pretty simple: if you want a good quality real looking jersey, don’t waste your time with the link you provided. The China knock off jerseys are terrible.

-Fine, dont waste your time then. But you are suggesting 1 china shop is the same to another china shop 1000 miles away. All arent created equal. BTW, there are 1000s of reviews on this on youtube. Dont take my word for it, do your own dd

So... here’s a very recent experience of mine. Not sure if this is the right spot, but here goes.

I’ve been desperately looking for a black size 52 Patrice Bergeron Reebok Edge 2.0 jersey. Financial constraints in the past kept me from getting one, and I’m not a fan of the new Adidas jerseys. Most online retailers don’t have much Reebok gear left, and what they did have, wasn’t my size. Add to that that I haven’t bought an NHL jersey in over 20 years, and it was a very confusing and frustrating search.
I finally found an authentic edge jersey in the right size on eBay, but with a different player. I decided to pull the trigger on the jersey and worry about customization later. Got the jersey yesterday, and LOVED IT! I called up the company that numbers and letters the Boston Bruins’ uniforms, and they told me that a new name and numbers could be put on this jersey of mine.

What’s weird about this is how excited I am about the jersey. Like a kid at Christmas. I didn’t think it would be such a big deal to me, but I find myself wanting many more jerseys - winter classic and vintage players.

Note: bought a 2010 winter classic jersey tonight! Why? Because who knows how much longer I’ll be able to find one.

This might become a problem for me...

If you’re on the Facebook, check out the group: NOT Game Worn Hockey Jersey Collectors. Lots of legit people in there selling a little bit of everything except Chinese knockoffs.

I just bought this off of IceJerseys and can vouch for them. But, I would point out, that CCM is no longer making new throwbacks, and its hard to find certain sizes. I'd actually recommended doing what I am doing with one of my older St. Pats Jerseys from when they were first reissued. I was able to track down a service (Keenerjerseys.com) where I can ship it to them, and they can source the original numbers, and do it to the highest quality. Icejersey's also offers this service. A good place to source older jerseys would probably be JerseyBaron.com. I'd also ask around r/hockeyjerseys

Just as a PSA, Jersey Baron’s stocks are finite. If you want a Reebok jersey from them in a particular size, don’t wait around forever. Get it.

I have delt and bought from them very recently, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I had the right size. They really care about the customer.

But they have a fight strap, so they must be authentic, right?

Having bought from overseas before (once and never again), the quality is not even close. The lettering is often lopsided and is stitched crooked. The jersey material is similar to that of a cheap pair of running shorts. Numbers are always the wrong size, often using 10 inch numbers instead of the proper 12 inch numbers. From what I've seen on the Penguins' jerseys, they use a yellowish color that is far from the actual gold on the authentic jerseys. The logos? They are often the wrong shade of color. I won't even start with the lack of proper sizing... eh, ok, I just did. The sizing is very inconsistent, to where a 52 fits like a size 46 and vice versa.

But if you want to order these "authentics" that look like a 3rd grade art project, then by all means go for it. I would rather have one authentic jersey of a player that played for my favorite team for 20 games over a decade ago then have a closet full of these "authentics" that people brag about as a major collection.

-Im sorry that you ordered a garbage jersey from a garbage supplier. The link I posted offers 100% money back guarantee if you arent happy with the product.

I did order from a garbage supplier, you are right. But the issue is that they are all garbage suppliers. If you want to wear those types of jerseys, I am not here to stop you. In fact, order another fifty. My day will not change.

But because I don't want this to seem like I am picking on you specifically (to be clear, this is about cheap overseas jerseys in general), can you post the front and back of two or three jerseys? I think this would only be fair. Not only would this allow me to see the quality, but it will allow other posters to form their opinion.
