I figured this would be an interesting conversation. I think they're the best line since the Nylander line with Jagr. What about compared to the GAG line? Obviously not looking for a precise number just discussion. It's kind of hilarious how because Fast (an underrated player) wasn't complete garbage with Panarin we spent so many years thinking Panarin is a better player with a garbage winger on his other side and played absolute bums with him.

This morning I picked up some bagels and had my NYR hat on and a guy behind the counter says 'The Panarin line is going to be the best line in the league this year, book it!'

I dont think they will be the best obviously, but still got a good chuckle

Graves-Messier-Verbeek was the best iteration of Graves-Messier-Whoever
Straka-Nylander-Jagr was probably the most productive in their short run.
Bread-Tro-Laf could become the best if they stay together another few seasons and Laf continues his progression.

They already are.

In 2023-24, they scored more goals at even strength than any other three-player combination in the league and it really wasn't all that close.

I'm interested to see if I can find stats on Straka-Nylander-Jagr. That's the only line in my lifetime that comes to mind as far as competing with this one.

I obviously didn't see the GAG Line and it was a different era. Their reputation couldn't have happened by accident, of course.

And of course Cook-Boucher-Cook won multiple Cups.

That's probably your top 4 in team history right there.

It's in the conversation with Straka, Nylander, Jagr. I give those guys the edge because they operated with zero offensive support from the blue line. If Fox had shared the ice with Jagr instead of Malik-Rozsival and Tyutin-Kasparitus...

Yeah, but is that normalized by how long they played together? Maybe other lines didn't play as many minutes together.

Too soon to tell but its a good sign when your line is being compared to previous lines with hall of famers like Messier, Jagr, Ratelle and Gilbert.
