Where and What will you be doing for the opener

watching game at home. will people be in the chat?

I had a chance to get free tix for the 'canes game, but I have month end close next weekend.

At a bowling tournament, for the daughter this time. Then over to a friend's house afterwards. I'll have it recording, and my daughter and I will watch it much later at night.

At least living in Maryland, I won't have to worry about anyone talking about the game while I am out in public. Though that did happen with a Bills game a couple of seasons ago. I had recorded the Bills/Eagles game while I took my visiting parents to Harper's Ferry for the day. Suddenly, I found myself behind 2 random guys talking about the game and the score... in the fourth quarter.

Clock format
Location: Home, light-controlled living room
Entertainment Center Stats: Epson 8100 projecting onto a 120" screen, Pioneer vsx-1020k receiver, Polk 70s up front, 60s in the back, cs2 in the middle, with an eD a2-300 thunderously announcing each Kaleta check.
Seating: Newly-covered blue couch, rocking chair, loveseat
Food: Burgers, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans
Drink: Freshly chilled Brita water, possibly a Genesee Cream Ale
Chat: Too excited to type
Jerseys: Vanek for me, my first-game-souvenir '95 Mogilny on the gal
Baby: n/a

Looks like the chat will be packed. If I'm at my buddy's I might still drop in during intermissions.

Drink: Rogue Dead Guy Ale / Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA / Captain Morgan / Diet Pepsi

Firestone Walker Double Jack. Bell's Two Hearted Ale once that's gone.

Backup plan: Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA although I was saving that for Festivus.

Edit: Aha! Found a stray bottle of Troegs Mad Elf in the crisper.

So I don't have cable, but fortunately the game is on NBC. Unfortunately, in my wisdom of trying to save up for a wedding, I took a second job and will be working 12-3 on Sunday. So I will be running my justin.tv app on my phone and will try to steal glances of the game when I can.

I'm really surprised the game hasn't sold out yet, seems like there is still a good amount of tickets left too.

check NBCSports.msnbc.com first - They are supposed to be showing all three games this weekend on their NHL Live Extra.
Would be a much better feed than your justin.tv app.

As for myself, I'll be at the game in my season tickets seats - up in 327. Go Sabres!

check NBCSports.msnbc.com first - I heard they may not be blacking out the feeds of the NBC games for this weekend. (the game you have locally on TV would be blacked out - ala Pens-Flyers Saturday and Flyers-Sabres on Sunday.) Would be a much better feed than your justin.tv app.

Well, I'll be at the game in my season tickets seats - up in 327.

You only got the first 3 games in the mail so far, right? When are the other 21 games getting mailed?

Home, tuned into whatever channel it's being broadcast on..... (center ice preview, NBC?? I have no clue at this point.....)

With HF GDT up and active. (Never figured out how to get into the chat.... )

Can't wait to read the 1st GBU posts!

Yeah, we only got the first three home games in the mail. According to the letter that came with those tickets, the other remaining game tickets are being printed in a season ticket package and will be mailed in the coming weeks. Since most of us received our tickets for the first three games, either last Saturday or this past Monday - my guess "coming weeks" means sometime late next week. We will definiately get them way before our fourth home game - Super Bowl Sunday, Feburary 3rd - vs Florida.

Most likely the delay in them being sent to us is that they were be those fancy/special whatever you want to call them - tickets that we always get. Those do take a while to print out. Hopefully that will include the first three games too so we can replace the tickets.com ones we received.

Yea, I was just getting nervous. I thought I missed the mail or something. I need more patience :biglaugh:
