When does Trotz pull the plug on Brunette?

So which young player are we going to blame now?

I think Novak still kind of fits the bill. He will be waived or dumped imminently.

Next man up in the Bruno blame game.

Let's spin a wheel and pick the culprit.

Novak got 12:30 minutes. A little more than Vinny the jet. He does look like the next guy thrown out of an airlock.

The Boro
The local media talk about how the top line started clicking when O’Reilly was injured and Stamkos was moved to 1C and Marchessault was put at wing due to Nyquist being out sick. That option has always been available this season but was not used until the coach was forced to use it due to injury.
They also talk about the system changes and other players having to pick up their production due to the injury to Josi. The option to make those changes and coaches asking other players to play different roles to increase their production was always there but was not implemented until the coach was forced to due to injury.
Last year the young players on the roster were forced into bigger roles with all the trades and injuries and that led to the better play and push to the playoffs. The option to use them in those roles was always there but not implemented until the coach was forced to do so.
The common occurrence to improved play by the team is when the head coach is forced to do something that he doesn’t initially want to do. It really puzzles me how the media can dance all around this one specific aspect of the team and refuse to connect the dots to the actual source of the problem.

None of the media working for a broadcast partner is going to rock the boat and across the board the local media are ignorant.

Either we have a toxic locker room our the coach has lost the team. I'm not sure which it is, but this whole "the team loves each other, just bad breaks" narrative shouldn't be working for anyone. The lack of attention to details, lack of push and continued undisciplined play tells me guys are frustrated and acting as individuals and not a team OR they have tuned out the coach.

Either one of these are Bruno's responsibility IMHO. It shouldn't be acceptable.

I think all of those "or"s should be "and"a.
I think it's all of the above.
Didn't see the game last night and I just don't care that I missed it. Which is not the norm. But a bit of a red flag to be honest. When I have seen games, the players look somewhere between disinterested and defeated any time they show the bench during games.

That said, last year's streak and this year's little bump games where we are slightly dominant have kept Bruno alive, obviously. But, when we do score, it seems more individualistic instead of systemic. Does that make any sense?

We do have guys with a ton of talent, so even by accident they're gonna create some goals, but they rarely seem to be by an organized dominance of the other team, they're usually great individual plays, or blueline shots that deflect around and end up in the net.

Sorry, still suffering the impact of waaaay too much cheap champagne.

Not sure about the room but there is sure not much heart or give a shit in the players. Last night after taking a penalty Josi did come out of the box noticeably fired up. During Foresbergs goalless December he has not shown much fire. Those two are critical, be it they have lost faith in coaching or the organization as whole. There is plenty of blame to go around. 11 wins and soon half the season will be done. The next four games look pretty hopeless then the schedule gets easier if that means anything. Last night looking at league results only one team had a worse goal differential the Sharks. This is not a pure indication of a failing offense but both . Unless there is a coach out there that Trotz wants it is senseless firing Brunette to paying him and the new guy coming back. But a coaching change will be needed. Who ever the new guy is it will have to be someone committed to rebuilding. The core is aging out and bandaiding just to make the playoffs aka Poile seems improbable.
