Trotz is really sticking his neck out there for Bruno.
It won’t go far.Trotz is really sticking his neck out there for Bruno.
Well I expect a team missing RoR, NyQuil and Josi to be worse.Trotz and Bruno can now use the injuries excuse. What do you expect from a team that is missing RoR, Nyquist, Josi, Carrier, Lauzon?
Looks like we are still shoving all the young players onto a line and saying best of luck to you. Having L'Heureux, Pärssinen, and Svechkov together isnt a great idea. But i guess Bruno really doesnt want to leaverage the experience he has. Just gonna put them on a 4th line and play them when you absolutely have to.
Someone needs to pay the batman building a pretty penny to drape a "fire Bruno and Trotz" banner on the building like the Preds didn't when they unveiled the gold sweatersHe already had all the excuse he needed, the owners have all the excuse they need, they are being patient and letting them learn. Ladies and Gentlemen we might as well get used to it unless something suddenly clicks and one of them figures this mess out.
Could just drape it over the floors AT&T are vacating. Won't mess with anyone's views.Someone needs to pay the batman building a pretty penny to drape a "fire Bruno and Trotz" banner on the building like the Preds didn't when they unveiled the gold sweaters
Carrier and Lauzon are atleast nhl level dmen. I still would love to trade them but they are less suspect on the ice than the 4 AHL dmen we will be running.Well I expect a team missing RoR, NyQuil and Josi to be worse.
I expect a team missing Carrier and Lauzon to actually be better. If Schenn was missing we would also be better.
But yes the management now has an excuse and I hate that for the fans
I'm not convinced Carrier should be an NHL defenseman. At least not an every night playerCarrier and Lauzon are atleast nhl level dmen. I still would love to trade them but they are less suspect on the ice than the 4 AHL dmen we will be running.
Although, ive been pleasently surprised with Wilsby, Del Gaizo, and Blankspot. Wilsby and Del Gaizo are likely legitimate NHL bottom pairing defense and maybe a bit more ceiling if all goes well (like Carrier) and Blanker would actually be pretty decent if he wasnt microsized and easily zambonied off the puck
I think him and Lauzon would actually make a really good 3rd pair. Lauzon is paid like one but unfortunately we chose Carrier over Fabbro and paid Carrier like a 2nd pairing. Both are fine as long as they arent elevated above their ability. Both can play 2nd pairing as necessary. Carrier keeps getting put up to 1st pairing and looks terrible.I'm not convinced Carrier should be an NHL defenseman. At least not an every night player
In fairness I've been saying carrier isn't an NHL caliber d man for years at this point. Maybe a third pairing d man but I wouldn't have him as anything more than a 7th D on my roster personally. To weak on his skates, not good at battling in front and not good enough with passes out of the d zone.I think him and Lauzon would actually make a really good 3rd pair. I didnt want to extend him personally. Mostly because i knew Bruno was going to choose him over Fabbro and i thought that was an idiotic decision for now and the future. In fairness I've been saying carrier isn't an NHL caliber d man for years at this point. I don't think he fills any particular need on the blue line.
Yeah I could have dug them as a pairing in that Irwin-Weber role.I think him and Lauzon would actually make a really good 3rd pair. Did it work though? We got some goals against a struggling goalie and only managed to get 20 shots on net.I actually thought it was progress that Bruno did what almost 100% of other coaches would have done last night and put the big guns together. Surprise. It worked.
Its a shame that Bruno and Trotz forced Fabbro out. We gave up the depth we needed and waived a perfectly capable top 4 defenseman.... due to our coaches inflexibility.
8 straight losses.
Just pathetic.
If Bruno hasn't gotten fired to this point I don't see how it happens now that he has an excuse. I'm already mentally preparing myself for him to be back next season too.At this point with the injuries piling up, do you really toss an interim coach into that situation?
If it means playing the kids and getting them ice time to develop and learn the speed of the game, yes. If it also means certain guys never see the ice again, yes. The top vets who have won should be there. The young kids should be there. The tweeners have no place on this team moving forward so why are we playing them instead of guys who we're trying to develop? At this point with the injuries piling up, do you really toss an interim coach into that situation?
Yeah this is my theory too. Barry coached some pretty terrible teams early in his NHL career so it makes sense that he wants to give leash to his coach to develop. I also think his experience in Washington where he won the Cup despite nearly being fired the prior offseason plays into his thinking that patience is warranted. I think if we were in the mushy middle lot of us would be frustrated and likely calling for Bruno to be fired anyways and maybe Trotz would have a valid point in that case. Instead the reality is that we are the worst team in the league and have lost >75% of our games this season so any excuse just falls incredibly flat.Reading through the thread just brings me to the realization that Bruno is not getting the boot. It's not going to happen. It seems Trotz feels there is something in Bruno and his style that is paramount to any type of on ice product or off ice development at this stage. I don't get it. Maybe he sees himself in Bruno and refuses to accept that he isn't the right guy? Projection isn't a valid explanation when this team continues to fail at epic proportions, but it kind of feels like that's what we are getting.
