More curious about why you think it was a good thing to call it a minor penalty?
Is this tied to safety somehow? Seriously question, I don't know. It just seems the NHL is always super concerned with optics, can't tuck your jersey, show up in certain outfits, no tolerance for pregame messaging etc. Then they make hilariously poor optical decisions, no pride support, no cancer support, your mask is too aboriginal, roulette player safety. All while being too lenient on sexual issues, racism, etc.
I feel like the NHL has bigger fish to fry than worrying about a jersey being slightly up on one side. It's not like a jersey tuck results in a dudes junk hanging out. Again, maybe this is some safety issue but I'd fail to see why that matters since real safety issues of concussions, stick work, visors, etc, they take about as seriously as a runny nose.
Sorry for the rant but I find it a meme how much the NHL polices the "professionalism" of players while also giving zero f***s about corrupt, unprofessional, garbage officiating and league office stooges that actively ruin the product. It's just a really weird double standard. If you want to go HAM on players, maybe take the same approach with your refs for starters.
