First of all, this is the greatest site on the internet. I spend more time here than any person ever should
With a lot of time spent on a website you start to get annoyed by certain things that are said though.

So what is your biggest pet peeve that is often said on here. (Nothing to do with the website itself, just things that are often said)

I'll start by saying my biggest pet peeve is when people call an early second round pick "pretty much a first rounder" or a late first round pick "pretty much a second rounder" when they are using it to try to boost the value in a trade proposal. I completely understand what these posters mean. Obviously an early 2nd is closer to a 1st than a late 2nd but I just hate it when people say it's pretty much the same thing. Why cant they just say "is almost as valuable as".

So to you guys who think your early second is the same as a late 1st, lets swap since apparently my late first is the same as an early 2nd!

What's yours?

edit: please don't mention any individual teams, fans of teams and most importantly posters on here.

The sensitivity to any hit, fight or physical play between two teams. People have gone insanely soft over the years, it's hilarious.

Example: _____ hits ______ from behind on a basic boarding call. _______ gets a 5 minute major, a game misconduct.

Every semi questionable hit gets its own thread on the mainboards. Seems there's always 4 or 5 threads like this on the main board all the time. These questionable plays should just have their own forum.

I always get a kick out of the trade proposals, "i'll give you my garbage for your gold."

"[Insert Some Idiotic Gimmick Here] will make the game more entertaining!"

"Hockey was so much better 5/10/20/30 years ago" *completely ignores the issues the game had at the time*

The widespread ignorance regarding Tampa Bay, although this has somewhat went away due to our recent success.

Edit: Just read the bottom of the OP, lol. If I had to choose another one it would be the people who make a poll to solve an argument in another thread.

I'll add another. I get frustrated when people criticize players for not doing something but they don't realize how hard it is because they never played hockey before.

Example, a puck is in a players feet and there are 2 blades in the middle and a fan gets pissed off because he didn't shoot. Sometimes it's impossible to get a shot off like that.

Also, on a breakaway if they deke the goalie to the backhand and the goalie gets the pad on it. Sometimes fans say why couldn't he just go high. These fans don't realize it isn't like NHL15 where if you point up that's where the puck goes. If you already made your move and the puck has made its way to the toe of the blade you aren't getting that thing up if you bake it in viagra.

Seeing the term "joke" for everything people disagree with.

"The reffing is a joke!"

I see it maybe a few dozen times a day.

Edit: crap...beaten to it...lol.

Thinking PPG pace over half a season equally equates over a full season....it rarely does.

I love this site and I've learned so much here, that being said, I can't stand how some people have a hard time forming their own opinions. Rather than be open-minded about certain things people will form an opinion based on whatever someone else wrote here, and they'll maintain that opinion despite all evidence (and reason) pointing to the contrary.

At the same time I understand it's a sports forum and there are rivalries, and bias is a part of the game, but it shouldn't be that hard to look at things objectively from time-to-time.

Also I strongly dislike troll accounts. There are people who spew garbage non-stop but aren't "technically" doing anything against the rules, so they get to continue with their crap. Those are the people who make this site worse than it should be.
