If you’re in the local area, outside of a cable/satellite package, I think Fubo Tv is the only streaming service that carries MSG.

Use a friend or family member's cable to login to MSG GO.

Otherwise, cable is the most likely option for now. They are supposed to launch direct to consumer package, but I wouldn't be surprised if the price is something absurd.

Was supposed to launch “early 2023.” Then they went radio silent for a few months. And finally a couple weeks ago they very quietly dropped the news that it’s delayed until summer (link).

Pretty frustrating because I’m in the same streaming limbo as OP. I’m waiting to hand them $20 a month or whatever they decide to charge. Sick of connecting to a shit quality MSG GO stream on my laptop with a borrowed password and connecting to the TV via HDMI. I want to enjoy my Rangers with a quality picture on my new 77” 4K HDR screen. Without the hassle of pulling it up on the comp and plugging shit it. And I absolutely f***ing refuse to pay $80+ for cable when I won’t watch anything else. Fubo not much better.

I agree that Fubo is an outrageously expensive solution to JUST watch regional sports (and they don't have TNT because of some sort of dispute), but one thing to keep in mind is that most major credit card companies have promotions that take a significant chunk out of it.

For example, this is the current promotion for AMEX

Before that, Chase credit cards had a similar promotion. This is my first year (and hopefully last, if the MSG direct-to-consumer thing pans out) using Fubo, but I got really tired of the ESPN+/VPN solution, which for some reason seemed harder this year to find a server that wasn't blacklisted, and doesn't carry enough Rangers games to be convenient anyway.

Still way too expensive for a lot of people—but at least for me, $50 per month is a lot easier to swallow than $80.

Good to know about credit card promos, I’ll check that out. But yeah I did the ESPN+ with Nord VPN thing last year. It was hit or miss whether I would get blocked out or not. This year I tried a few times and haven’t been able to get through once. Feels like they’re really buckling down.

Just as an aside, no feed is going to do justice to your 77" 4K HDR lol. I bet those folks at MSG just got used to 1080p.

Also, you can MSG Go on your phone and cast to your TV instead of connecting your laptop.

Yeah I know, but I’ll still take that 1080p picture over the crap I get through my laptop lol. And I’ve tried the phone casting, but have found it to be much worse. Laggy, choppy motion, buffering, etc..

I use fubo and I’m generally happy with it. Image quality could always be better though. It’s a solid 720p and a stable 24hz with a good a codec. If you are really close to a huge screen you’ll notice some compression artifacts but I’m generally unable to see them from more than 2 feet away.

It’s basically same quality as (or maybe a touch better than) modern cable boxes.

Ive never had luck w espn and vpns. I have used 2 different vpn services and espn recognizes something is up and the videos dont load.

Apparently, there will also be a $9.99 per game option as well. This is all mightily expensive.

I'll stick to DirecTV Stream.
