1. Desperate from the Start!!!
2. Better Coached. Defense first.

they were desperate from the start. Too bad they don't hate Canada as much as their other opponents.

anyways, they need some finish. The 2010 USA team was not built on toughness, of course they were "tough" but in best of 1 games, skill might get the best of toughness since it's an all in game, and usually weaker players are willing to "gut" it out for one game, and not have to worry about paying the price later against certain players on the other teams like in a best of 7.

as Bob Mckenzie said in regards to the 2010 team, they had guys "that can end the game on their stick" referring to deadly players like Phil Kessel, and Bobby Ryan, Tyler Johnson would have helped.

Thing is they were not they started very flat and took Europe lightly... no desperation in their game.

And they gave up too much too easy. Different teams , different styles, different strengths ... focus on defense first ... playing the right (if boring) way. They did not do that either.

Considering the rules and the U23 NA team they wouldn't be on this squad.

Everyone would place them if they are available, but it is unclear whether they are.

My hope is that there will be so much pressure to get those guys on Team USA that the rules will change. For one you can easily put in a rule that you can't play twice on Team NA. Secondly, there will be so much new talent like Connor, Tkachuk, Keller, Brown, etc. (not to mention guys we don't even know of yet in the next couple drafts) that the novelty should be to see the younger guys, not see guys who already participated in this format.

I know who DOESN'T make the team.

Abdelkader
Backes
Dubinsky
Oshie
Parise
E. Johnson
J. Johnson

I would definitely take Parise. Agree with the rest though. Abdelkader is the worst of the bunch and yet he got the most ice time. Astonishing, really.

Yeah, because it was all Quicks fault they played like crap vs Europe and Canada. :shakehead
Nobody in net was going to save the sorry ass team that showed up.Someone counted up the number of outnumbered attacks in the 3 games, and it was 35!

It's amazing how almost every single proposed roster here rightly has T. Johnson as 1st or 2nd line center and the dinosaurs didn't even put him on the roster.
