Great article from Brownie on what Regehr and Gabby brought to this:
http://lakingsinsider.com/2014/06/20/brown-on-lifting-the-cup-impact-of-regehr-gaborik/

“It was either him or Gabby,” Brown said. “With Reg, again, he got hurt in Round 2, but no one saw other than us what he did in the locker room. He dressed, warm-ups, he was very vocal and a big part of our team inside that locker room that none of you guys got to see. At the end of the day, he’s been a part of this team, and he’s a big reason why we won. I think that’s what this team’s all about, is a guy who missed – what was it, 15 games, more? 20 games? – and he still had an impact and a role in winning a championship.

It's crazy the amount of **** we as fans and the media don't get to see behind closed doors.

Awesome guy, Savemefromtears. I'll re-post an article that got buried at the end of the last PGT. It's by a Buffalo blogger.

Reginald, Let's Go!

I've seen Regehr's impact on a locker room first hand in Buffalo. The room is a better place when Regehr is in it. He makes guys braver, more courageous , and he holds them accountable for their actions. He's a calming influence who can take a teammate aside after getting ripped by a coach for making a mistake and innately make the guy feel better about himself. Regehr is a moral compass. Never did he duck a tough question after a loss. He always stood in the pocket and delivered heartfelt answers. Vets like Pominville, Ott, Vanek, and Miller loved Regehr for his leadership and his grace under pressure. On the D side of the room, "Reggie" was the boss that Myers, Ehrhoff, Weber, Leopold, McNabb, Brennan, Pysyk, and the kids looked to for guidance and experience. Weber once told me that it gave him chills to look next to him and see Regehr sitting in the dressing stall directly next to his.

Regehr is like Krazy Glue. He holds a room together through good times and bad times.

There's also that MayorsManor interview with Linden Vey from a few months back...

On what veteran helped him out the most:

“Regehr actually. He grew up actually not too far from me. We had lots of dinners and took note on the road. He’s a really good guy. It’s good to have guys like that to help you along.”

I was just about to post that exact section where Brown gives props to RR for being a large part of that leadership in the room , even when he was out for 20 games. That's something that bothers me about reporters and media types who 'typecast' a player when unless you in that room, you don't know squat. Good for Brown to give RR that credit. And good for RR to be that kind of leader. The more you read about this team, how special these players are, the more it becomes clear why they were able to have such resilience, jut their collective chins the odds and have that 'we knew were going to win' mentality.
It's list Williams said, when he looks around at the faces in that room, he has complete faith in them and what they can achieve.
