What was the strangest Rangers jersey I saw tonight?

I was at the Rangers game in Carolina tonight. Crowd was probably a quarter Rangers fans. Mostly Lundqvist jerseys. Lots of Zuccarello. Many Kreiders. Of course your Mess, Gretz, Leetch jerseys. But there were some interesting ones.

Also saw a couple of Stepan USA, Skjei, Buchnevich, Del Zotto, and McDonagh. I’m a little confused about the Shattenkirk jerseys and assume they were bought immediately when he signed.

I went with the Espo Heritage, only because it’s a jersey he never wore.

It was strange, but honestly the Kocur jersey was great.

My dad and I want to know the same thing about the Zherdev jersey.

In the time the Rangers were contenders, I was young, single, and living at home, so I could afford to go to 6-8 games/year.

During the 2013-14 season, there was a middle aged guy with an authentic Cam Talbot jersey that would sit just a couple of rows in front of us. He must have been a STH because I went to 4 or 5 games that year and sat in my buddy's STH seats, and I saw him every single game that year. This was a year before Talbot had his extended run when Lundqvist got hurt. Cracked me up at the time.

I mean there's having a Zherdev jersey, then there's choosing it as the NYR jersey you wear to a game- likely meaning its your only NYR jersey and presumably you only earned any money in the year 2009.

I was in NY and saw rangers vs Philadelphia (3-6, jagr with the hattrick) in 06. A guy had a jersey with "Tikkanen's ass" on the back. Probably a reference to how Gretzky wanted to end his career; shooting a puck in goal via Esa's derriere.

The heritage is the shield dark blue late 70s jersey right? That is the one I have, and he did wear it, there are photos of him in that jersey. Unless you mean a different one when you say heritage. Funny if I had gone we would have been bopsy twins, because I normally wear that or the White Liberty when I am at the Canes games.

A friend bought me a Shane McColgan no 18 Rangers jersey for my birthday years ago (Chinese knock off, of course) as a joke. We played NHL 18 and this was the year the Rangers drafted Shane McColgan. The 2 years before, I would always end up with Shane McColgan on my Rangers team as I either drafted him or traded for him and he would always play with no 18 in the game. I was a huge McColgan fan at the time. Then we drafted him in 2011 in the 4th round.

I have a Whalers jersey. Unfortunately, it has the gray sleeves, no it's not the original.

When I was in college, I played in the university's intramural street hockey league against a kid who wore a personalized Rockies jersey. He was also on the club ice hockey team. Thought it was hilarious my junior year when my team won the Championship over his team full of club ice hockey players.
