What TV shows or movie franchises did you give up on

I watched the first season of Heroes and got into about three eps of season two and that was it.

I saw the first Mission Impossible film and it wasn't good for me. Did they actually make seven more?

My Best-Carey

Battlestar Galactica near the end. I never watched a second of Westworld after season 1, as it was clear which storylines would be continuing going forward. Marvel movies, I've seen most of the early ones but it became beyond tedious to keep watching with the same formula again and again as they tried elevating D list characters and refused to do anything creative. I loved Big Brother but eventually they ran me off with production choices.

Ray Donovan
Peaky Blinders
Yellowjackets
Lost but watched it all almost 20 years later
Shameless
Yellowstone
Handmaid's Tale
Better Call Saul
Stranger Things
Friday Night Lights

A few that I wish I had quit watching earlier are Dexter, Sons of Anarchy and House of Cards.

Heroes-When it became the Petrielli family saga and the dad threw Hiro back in time, I quit and never watched again. The show was already getting annoying with their tropes and use of language (not offensive, just corny).

The Flash (Season Five) and all of CW shows-After season two, The Flash became a chore and all the other CW shows got too cliche with their allegories and messages. Season three of The Flash had a terrible villain, season four the villain and his wife were annoying, but once Mohinder from Heroes showed up in season five and every week became him and Barry trying to out-self righteous monologue each other, I was out. I stuck with Legends for a bit longer and came back to the Flash to check in on two episodes. It got worse and the last episode was terrible.

Nu Trek - Discovery is retcon trash and Picard I gave a chance for Season 1 which had some good ideas but the execution was terrible. Season 2 I made it through but didn't enjoy any of it. And Season 3 started out really interesting, but became the nostalgia and fan service power hour at the halfway point. It wasn't stories, it was madlibs of classic moments. I was duped by Paramount and Bad Reboot, I will always have classic Star Trek, and I refuse to watch any new Star Trek until it's a new production company and they go into the future and have a clean slate.

Mr. Robot
Peaky Blinders
Lost
Better Call Saul
Handmaid's Tale
The Walking Dead
Ripper Street
Spooks
The Leftovers
Loki (one episode only)
Secret Invasion (one episode only)
Moon Knight (probably seeing a theme here: one episode only)

Probably a load more I am forgetting.

Not sure I made it past the end of S1 of The Handmaid's Tale. When it started making new stuff up that wasn't in the book I lost interest.

I quit on Westworld and True Detective after 1 season each. I saw Star Wars Episode 1 when it came out and swore off anything Star Wars as I was walking out of the theater (broke that promise for Rogue One and Andor). There's been a couple things just this past year, but for the life of me, I can't remember them.

The Leftovers somewhere mid-season one. It seemed like it wanted to be more than the sum of its parts but just wasn't trending that way. Though, to be fair to the show, I think from what I understood of the plot, I expected it to be a different kind of show than it was.

Wheel of Time
LOTR Rings of Power
Mandalorian
Walking Dead (gave up after Rick supposedly died)
The Book of Boba Fett
Battlestar Galactica
Yellowstone
Succession

Probably some others that I can't remember

Breaking Bad is one of the best shows. there is some garbage with Skyler that takes up to much time but man.

The Last of Us belongs in here.

That show's actually really good now, for a non book reader, and even the book readers on Youtube have turned to like the show. Miles better than Rings Of Power in just about every aspect.

I haven't read the books (never even heard of it before I saw the show on Amazon Prime) but I watched either most or maybe even all of the most recent season, mainly because everyone in the thread here liked it so much. I gave it a good try but it's not at all my cup of tea. I really felt it was a chore to sit through. C'est la vie.

PS: I would agree that it's better than ROP though. Pretty much anything would be.

Lessons In Chemistry
House of the Dragon
Daisy Jones & The Six
The Bear
Stranger Things
Jessica Jones
South Park
Dexter
Lost
Heroes

probably some others.
