Yes this changed the game in a big way, no this isn’t the reason the Panthers lost. Goal on the ice that was taken away due to GI. Discuss. EDITED VIDEOS FOR CLARITY

This clip ends before the puck comes through

I liked the OP on the other thread about this better, anyway

Good job giving a clip that doesn't show the GI while expecting us to then discuss the GI.

This is goaltender interference:

Goaltender interference refers to any attacking player who, by means of their stick or body, interferes with or impedes the movements of the goaltender by actual physical contact. While incidental contact with the goaltender may occur, attacking players must make an effort to avoid contact in all circumstances.

Also that is 100% interference, the player made ZERO attempt to leave the crease and impeded the goalie from getting over to the puck.

Correct Call.

FLA made ZERO attempt to get the f out of there and not interfere with the goalie
This is why they called it, even though the puck was past the goalie before he slid across into the Panther in the crease. He wasn’t stopping that anyway. But, I get why they still called it.

Yeah Rodrigues should barrel through Mahura to leave or just completely stop screening the goalie and go to open ice because can’t be anywhere near him even though he was forced in the crease. Amazing league if that’s how soft we’ve become.

no.

he should just skate outside the crease and screen the goalie

Then the goal would be have been a good goal.

Better Luck Next Time

1. It's correct that he kind of parked in the crease, but he was still stopped from moving out by a Kraken defenseman.
2. He didn't interfere with the goalie UNTIL the puck was already passed him, so he didn't interfere with him during play.

Like I said, the league has got soft. Ive seen a cup you haven’t. It is what it is. When someone forces you into the crease, you shouldn’t have to try and get out of the situation immediately. But leafs don’t go near the crease so I get the confusion.
