Operation Odessa
Betting on Zero —> for @SnowblindNYR
Of course you'd love yennifer lol.
I can't stand her at all. Her character is directionless. The actress is pretty mediocre (though beautiful), and I don't buy the love at all. Her going from not knowing any magic at all to being the most powerful mage in the universe was so over the top fast and made no sense to me.
Geralt and the bars are by far the 2 best characters.
It took me 4 episodes to realize that the timelines weren't concurrent. I was very confused at times. They did a horrible job, and honestly I didn't know that's what the time frame was...It was extremely hard to decipher. They did some weird stuff with time in the show. Yennifer, Geralt and Ciri aren’t on the same timeline. Yennifer’s story takes 70 years to happen. Geralt’s takes 20. Ciri is about two weeks (according the show runner). I’m not sure they did a great job making the time jumps clear. Her gaining all that power doesn’t really happen fast, it just seems like it does.
It’s a documentary — just one film — about the Cali cartel’s attempt to buy a Russian submarine. You just have to watch it.I seem to remember Operation Odessa, but didn't really want to watch it. Is that one or 2 shows? Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed it!Operation Odessa was one of the best documentaries I've ever seen...WOW. It's a must-watch! It's about crime but not depressing like a lot of shit I watch.
Glad you enjoyed it!![]()
Called in sick at work and doing a docu binge.
@SnowblindNYR holy shit watch How to Fix a Drug Scandal
I'm third episode in. After this I'll watch Seven Five. Figure it'd make a good pairing. Thanks, I saw it, pretty crazy, but I'll be honest I was a bit disappointed. It was a good, but not great documentary. It was on Netflix top 10 so I was expecting more.

I'm in Seven Five now. Just curious, why do you feel the way you do about HDYFADS?I liked Seven Five a lot more. It was very well done.

The pace didn't bother me at all. And four episodes represented a quick bite.It was just a bit slow. Came off as a little bit low budget. I watch a lot of documentaries and this one didn't stand out. The storytelling was dry and unexciting. I didn't hate it or anything, I was just expecting more for a top 10 show that was featured on Netflix. Those are usually the highest quality. It was an average Netflix documentary which is still very good.

Finished Seven Five. Did they ever explain why Dowd served only 12 years?
Now onto Operation Odessa.

I understand they're interviewed for a purpose but I don't like the glorification of them as part of the result.I don't remember. What I find amazing is all of these documentaries with terrible criminals and they're interviewed in their street clothes in the privacy of their own homes. No one serves much time it seems.

Agreed. I’m guilty. If I didn’t find Pablo Escobar interesting and fascinating I’d be lying and I’m aware of every despicable thing he did.I'll be honest, without the glorification I feel like I wouldn't be as interested. Unless it's something like "The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez" or "The Devil Next Door", I want to relate to these people in some way. If I was just appalled the entire time I wouldn't be as interested in most of these documentaries.
