What NHL team does Saskatchewan cheer for?

The Canadian province of Saskatchewan doesn't have an NHL team so who do they cheer for? They are between Manitoba (who has Winnipeg) and Alberta (who has Calgary and Edmonton) so they could support one of those clubs. Or maybe they just pick any Canadian team? I have no idea.

A lot of it probably comes down to who family, friends etc. cheer for, although I'm sure there are a lot of Oiler/Flames/Jets fans like you mentioned.

Wouldn't surprise me to see a lot of Leafs and Habs fans as well though, maybe some Bruins and Wings fans too due to the O6.

Not really, Minnesota wild is closer.

For the most part I'd say it's pretty split between Canadian teams mainly the Oilers, Leafs, Jets, Canadiens and Flames fans (roughly in that order) but it likely depends on where in Saskatchewan they live. I do not see too many Canucks or Sens fans around here.

Speaking from personal experiences, the Leafs and by a good margin. Oilers are probably next, followed maybe by the Flames, which is kind of surprising considering Calgary is Saskatchewan's largest city.

But, yes, Riders trump all.

At Red Deer wouldn't it be mixed (like Kingston, ON is split between 3), and going North Oil, south Flames.

Lots of people born in Saskatchewan now reside in Calgary. Due to its recent rapid growth, Calgary's population is pretty even in terms of those born in that city and those that were not.

There was time when 7-10 bus loads of fans came here in the the peg for games back in the day especially if DET, MTL or TO was playing. Mind you it was easy to get tickets.

I bet there are still lots of Leafs, Habs and Wings fans.

You'll find fans of all seven Canadian teams.

Habs and Leafs mostly, especially if your dad is a big hockey fan. There is also quite a few who would cheer for the Flames or Oil if they were good (some Flames fans are coming out of the closet this year). I think that the Jets will gain a ton of fans here if they can put together a nice playoff run.
