What makes Lindy so untouchable?

As a relatively new fan, I simply cant get my head around keeping Lindy around after years of relatively little success. What makes him so untouchable? In English football managers have so little time to get things right (often too little) but surely the Sabres need to think about moving on from Ruff. We are going nowhere quickly currently...

Sorry, it's reflexive answer. One out of a frustrated rage. But yes, check out that thread. Tl;dr Darcy (GM) and Lindy (head coach) are joined at the hip. "Lindy ain't goin' nowhere" etc.
