The band is from Saskatchewan..so my guess would be some Hockey Canada official also from Saskatchewan picked it. Also, it has been the goal song for a few consecutive tournaments now. so they like to stick with tradition or superstition..

So you're telling me the Roughriders, Pilsner, and the finest roads/hi ways 19th century technology can offer wasn't enough to convince Canadian youth to move there? They had to play a catchy song as well?
(I should note, I actually like Saskabush. Saskatoon is a pretty cool city. Just fix those damn roads
