Ok I stand corrected - there are these guysNothing. This team is going no where. They will be out in the first round.
Need to draft that 1st round pick and start stock piling prospects for the rebuild.

Then trade Marner Matthews and nylander if you wanna spice things up also deal guys like brodie Campbell and if you can get him to waive his NMC Tavares.Nothing. This team is going no where. They will be out in the first round.

Unfortunately, with the frozen cap this team can't afford to get good enough. We are a full Hedman away from contending and there's nothing that we can realistically do about it.
Ya may want to add tending as a weak spot as well.I'd peg the blueline as being top priority but would also be open to adding a forward if possible. I wouldn't be keen on trading away a 1st or its equivalent in prospect for a rental. Anything less than that probably has to be fair game.
Looking at Pittsburgh and Washington's d-corps in their cup runs, it certainly is possible to do it without a Hedman.
Reilly fills in for Letang and Carlson.
Muzzin for Orlov.
Leafs have been pretty damn good come playoffs except for Game 7's/5.
If the forwards played with a little more desperation and could get a little more puck luck I think the D is fine.
They need Bunting to be more productive than Hyman was and to create that true Shutdown line with Kamph at C.
Who was the last "high priced" TDL rental that pushed his new team to at least a conference final?

Can't call him a rental. He played four full seasons with the Isles.Butch Goring for the NYI?
In the 1980 season, Goring was traded in March to the New York Islanders in exchange for Billy Harris and Dave Lewis, and was widely regarded as being the "final piece of the puzzle". That season, he scored 19 points in 21 playoff games to help the Islanders to the first of four consecutive Stanley Cups.
amen. we can't waste these prime years and this is the best team we've had in decades.Move anything and everything. . Time is now.
