I think Lilly just has to go down until
A move is made between Ritchie, engvall and mik.

I like all 4 players on the roster so it’s just tough.

So yeah the answer seems crystal clear.

Ditch Ritchie, Mikheyev to 3rd line, Engvall to the 4th line. (Or tbh maybe Engvall on the 3rd and Mikky on the 4th).

And with Clifford around that even gives us cheaper muscle depth than Ritchie.

Does Dubas take the plunge? Even if it's just waiving Ritchie to the minors?
I guess the numbers don’t lie. :)

He should not be on the Marlies again. It's too important for Liljegren's development to stay up and play regularly and we need to carry 7 defensemen just in case an injury happens.

Zero percent chance Kerfoot gets moved anytime soon, nor should he.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Kerfoot - Tavares - Nylander
Mikheyev - Kampf - Kase
Ritchie - Spezza - Simmonds

Engvall is the odd man out IMO once Mikheyev returns.

Why? Engvall is pretty clearly one of their best 12 forwards and has performed admirably on the "start in the d-zone and get into the 0-zone" line with Kampf and Kase.

Everyone hates Engvall, but all he does is turn in a competent two-way performance and score at a top-six rate at even-strength. It's absolutely bizarre.

I mean, you have Nick Ritchie on the roster. He's is the clear odd man-out. He's been terrible. He should get waived once Mikheyev is back.

Yes. Waive Ritchie. Maybe some dumb dumb team actually claims him.

Ritchie, easily. He seems like he's slowly coming around but right now he's the closest thing this forward group has to a weak link. Shedding that salary would be a bonus and give Kyle at least a tiny bit more wiggle-room cap-wise.

Mik goes or Kerfoot goes? Each guy brings exactly da same type of game - speed speed and more speed in either a 2nd or 3rd line role .. both are more defensive than offensive .. Mik is cheaper AAV and bigger .. I still think Kerfoot should be one to go for a VET D and/or a 2nd round pick but Mik wants OUTTA here unless he plays on one of top 2 lines so maybe it is him who goes for a 2nd round pick and then trade Holl for a vet D at 1M AVV to pick up needed CAP space

I don’t know what happens when he gets back but I hope Keefe puts him on the 3rd line with Kampf and Kase. I know he asked to play in the Top 6 but it’s about what’s best for the team now and not for an individual.

Considering Kerfoot is our second best producer at 5on5, and Mik can't finish, even if he has a breakaway, I think it would be foolish to move Kerfoot for Mikheyev, and I actually like Mikheyev.

It is mind-blowing the lack of respect Kerfoot gets on this board sometimes.

Because Mikheyev is a better version of Engvall and they play a similar game.

Kase has made Mik redundant providing reliable checking and secondary scoring.

Unless there is an injury, and with the fact Mik previously asked for a trade I would bid adios to him if someone has to go.

ritchie is the worst but he also brings something none of the others do. it's kind of nice to have a couple of big guys on the team who keep other teams more honest.
As much as Ritchie has been not good offensively, he does throw some big hits now and then. Does appear to create a bit of pressure on the forecheck with the hits he throws. He appears to have a heavy shot when he gets it off, even if the pucks haven't been going in for him. I am kind of mixed on him still. Obviously hasn't been worth the $2.5mil yet, but he appears to be a decent fit on the current 4th line right now.

I think Engvall coming out is the better option for when Mik is back. It would be great if Mikheyev could somehow score on the chances he inevitably generates with his speed.

yea exactly, swap out Engvall for Mik.

Also injuries are always going to happen and we have older guys who can use some rest. Engvall would be a great #13 to step in regularly.

We don’t have the cap space to keep Engval as the 13th forward with Mikheyev and Mrazek back unless we go down to 6 Dmen.

That’s the current issue, the only 2 players on the team that don’t need waivers are Sandin and Liljegren. Both the young D have earned a spot in the lineup IMO and anyone else would be lost on waivers.

To me Mik isn't worth losing Engvall

If he scored at a top 6 rate he'd be a top 6 forward he's not because he doesn't.

He's heating up a little bit but he's not a top 6 forward

He doesn't want to be here, he hasn't played like a difference maker since November 2019, he's lost his nickname to the goalie and the team finally seems to have developed some identity. I wouldn't want to lose the lowest player on the roster for this player at this time. Deal him or waive him.

So much disrespect to Kerfoot still. No chance we should consider moving him to get Mik back into the lineup.

To me Mik seems like a rich mans engvall, and dare I say the way engvall is playing I wouldn't want to take him out of the lineup.

IMO if anyone comes out it's Ritchie and even that's debatable. He brings elements we sorely lack despite the lack of scoring, and Mik just can't provide those things.

I'd put the chance of Kerfoot being moved at almost 0.
He only gets moved if the deal is too good to be true.
