I don’t watch the Stars a whole lot except for when the Blues play them, but it doesn’t seem like he is putting up many points. Is he hurt? What’s going on with him?

Major hip surgery, will take a long time to adjust. Maybe never.

Yeah, he also had a knee scope like a few weeks after, so I'm sure the rehab for all of that was fun. If you have an Athletic subscription, there's a story that covers it all.

Inside Stars' Tyler Seguin's grueling 6-month hip rehab, from 'chicken leg' back to the NHL – The Athletic

He basically had zero speed to start the season, but he's had bursts in the past few games where he's getting much closer to skating fairly quickly all things considered. Without his speed, he's had to try to adjust his game, which is pretty damn difficult if you've been playing the same way (relying on that speed) for a couple decades.

Been more like himself lately, but injuries really have impacted him, in particular his skating.

Like I said though, looking a bit more like his old self lately so there might be hope after all. Still on a 25 goal pace

Veteren Bruin players were asked if they saw any reasons not to trade Seguin. None did.
Nothing happened to Seguin......well, apparently nothing that surprised those who knew or played with him.
Peaked, got the contract ...... never improved one iota after that. He went as far as his natural talent would take him. Not an inch further.

He went until injuries struck you mean. Lol don't know what all that other stuff you said is about

Yea. That too.
Tyler has not been one of those players that came back from injuries recovered his A game.
But even healthy its no secret he enjoyed the night life a little too much.

His hips can only do so much thrusting. *wink wink*

I’ll leave now.

I'm willing to help train him to get his endurance up.

Might make him perform better. :thumbu:

Seguin has actually been looking a lot better the past few weeks. Slow start to the season and still recovering from his surgeries but he’s pushing himself; I wish Benn would do something likewise.

Same thing that happened to Kesler more or less. That labrum surgery seems be the beginning of the end

I think the title of the thread should read “what happened to benn and sequin?”

Who the hell is Sequin? What's with this board and adding a q to Tyler's name?

Anyways, Seguin will never live up to his contract but he's trying his ass off to reinvent his game and get his speed back. All his goals the start of the year were net front, gritty, grindy goals. Lately he's getting his speed back, though no where near to peak.

Best case scenario its a Stamkos like situation where he's down for a few years and comes back to life years after the surgery and recovery. Dallas is stuck with the contract, so only can hope and support him. He's trying his best, and putting in the work.

Sorry for misspelling

Rick Bowness's system must not work for him.

If he doesn't rebound in three years I consider him done as a producing player.

It's worth noting Phil Kessel has more points than him.
