Flames fan coming in peace,

I was just wondering, I remember in the 2011 playoffs Ben Smith was a beast he scored 2 goals the one game and the overtime winner in another game, what ever happened to him?

Other players came up younger, quicker and more talented then him. I can see him getting in a game or two this year.

Ben Smith would make a good addition for the Flames. Your team should make an offer for him.

He was injured and had to have surgery on his hip. Second year in a row an injury has caused him to miss a potential starting spot with the Blackhawks—he was hit in the head and concussed (see below) by Brendan Smith of the Red Wings during exhibition prior to last season. Smith has a one-way deal next year so he will be expected in the NHL somewhere. Good young player who has been unlucky with injuries and now seems to have lost his place in our depth chart because of younger players like Shaw and Saad. Could end up being traded this summer.

I see with your avatar that you are perhaps an Aliu fan?
I kind of hated to see him go as he has a ton of potential alas there is the attitude issue.
How is he doing in Calgary? He played well for the last few games last year I recall getting some points.

Ya last season in the last few games and he scored three goals, this season they recalled them and in his second game he got injured,he is now back in the AHL

He's a solid 3rd line players in this league

But with the emergence of Shaw, it likely took him spot.

And Shaw brings more to the team
