Any Leaf fan that wouldn’t welcome Tampas situation is lying to themselves.
Crazy how Tampa is moving players like they’ve won the Cup a couple of times, just finished another run to the finals and want to try again with necessary sacrifices.

Meanwhile, some people here want to manipulate it like we may not win, but at least we don’t have to move X like Tampa. Tampa organization is a bunch of chumps.

We don’t have to trade. Eventually they’ll just leave after repeatedly failing.

Nylander was butter soft against the Tampa D man with about 4 mins left in game 7. How can that be?

Nylabutter! Unlike cannabutter you cannot transform Nylabutter into something great because it's his dad's recipe.
Yeah, that's got to be it.

The guy averaging a PPG over the last 3 playoffs combined when scoring was an issue in 2 of them MUST be the problem! Hmmm....what load of crap can I make up to justify that position? Let's see. Oh yeah, he's not Wendel Clark!!!

Lol I’ve heard many people here say that’s a good problem to have and then when other teams do it they rip them saying cap hell. leafs have the same problem but no success to show for it.

their past situation or moving forward? Moving forward, I'd rather our team and especially our prospects/picks. The past situation, no one will argue.
In the next 3 If you have a championship or two but it was going to cost you Rielly for peanuts in the future you would want that.

All I see is a team that can’t get it done coming dangerously close (2 years) to getting paid more for the same thing.

Tampa moved McD but didn’t have to move Stamkos/Kuch/Hedman/Vas because they are locked up and proven they can advance and do the job.

Our group isn’t locked up and isn’t getting it done.

I would be looking to move Muzzin and Nylander for a new core guy that can be locked up for 6 years at less money to compliment the new salary for Matthews and then Marner. Then money for a goalie.

Why wouldn’t he try to get a loose puck in the offensive zone, down one goal in the final 4 mins of game 7?

We also way overate our prospect pool as well.

Like they MIGHT be a better then normal 2/4 round pick

But right now knies is the only one that is really a star

The current ones that are marlies are bottom 6 guys at best. Obviously Amirov is done as any option at all ( not that he was playing much in Russia).

The others are still either aways off or just gambles that we haven't seen very much of. It is a middle tier pool by every ranking.

We're most likely in the process of purging the only dubas pick on the roster as well if get rid of sandin. Not to mention we have no picks this or last year basically.

The positive to the pool is that they're supposedly good value for where they were picked that doesn't mean I would take that over what tampa has.

Like usual our future is because AM is a stud. the way we talk about our pool you'd think they're all top 10 pick quality or we stacked picks in the upcoming years like the coyotes instead of them being possibly better then their draft rankings with 0 in the NHL like we have

Protecting Holl in the expansion draft

Protecting a depth dman with 0 potential was the correct decision?

Much like the Kraken we over valued the RHD market unfortunately.

Burke also absolutely played us as well. He was going to lose mcann no matter what so he got a 7th and a C level prospect to cap dump Tanev.

I take a serious look at Mackenzie Blackwood and use the money to bolster the 3rd line. Currently its not good enough.
In a perfect world we 1 2 Campbell and Blackwood. I love both so I'm just being selfish lol. I think Campbell is good and enjoy him and i think Blackwood is capable of becoming a top 5 goalie if he can put it together.

Holl was being protected regardless. It was about guaranteeing to keep 1 secondary forward (Kerfoot vs Mcann).

I forgot that this was the case. Somehow worse that Holl was never on the table to get rid of.

Crazy we now might dump both for cap space....
