This season has been a pleasant surprise so far. It's not that I thought they would have a bad record, but the goaltending and overall defensive play has been reassuring. Obviously they will be looking to make a few additions, what's the overall thought on priorities?
2nd line winger?
3rd line player who can score?
LD Muzzin replacement?
RD to bump Holl down?
I'm also curious what people are comfortable giving up..Knies? Robertson? 23 1st? Sandin?(in a Chychrun deal for example)

If the goalies stay healthy, top 6 LW is the priority.

After that, a 3C that can contribute some offense would be nice too. Personally, I'd have Kampf there even if his point production is limited but if he's going to be 4C then the guy above him needs to be able to generate some offense with the likes of Kerfoot, Engvall or whomever Sheldon swaps in there on any given day.

Addition by subtraction, waive Engvall and pray some sucker GM thinks he has size and upside.

I doubt many opinions have changed since last week.

Which ever position can be improved, you do so. Every move should be with the sole focus on trying to dominate a team in the playoffs, not just coast and "hold on" until the last goal goes in. Reject the idea of entering post-season with any doubts or looking around and seeing soft spots. Aim to dominate.

Roll four lines who all know their role and which makes matchup near impossible for opponent, a "pick your poison" scenario. Get beat by skill/and or ground down until the Leafs score.

If all offers are equal, I focus on bottom 6 players. Move some pieces out for 2-3 north south players.

With Benn (especially) and Timmins, Mete, Leafs are fine on the backend in the case of injuries. I'd even dangle Brodie if the right piece comes back

In:
RoR
Chychrun
Schenn

Out:
Holl
Kerfoot
Sandin maybe
Engvall maybe
Picks prospects to make it happen

We don’t have the currency for that.

That being said as oft injured as he’s been Chychrun has been playing very well since his return. If I could move Rielly out and Chychrun in, without giving up a ton, that could make a lot of sense.

I'd break the bank for Chychrun, Tarasenko, or ROR. I'd lean toward Chychrun, because he comes with term. And I'd pay any combo of picks and prospects. If Knies has to be part of the package, so be it.

If that's not possible, just snag some forward for about a 2nd rounder. Maybe some waiver quality depth pieces at any position. Nothing earth shattering.

Right now I don't want any major movies. As we approach the deadline, lets see the injury situation or if anyone has their play really fall off...but it is hard to answer this at the moment because right now no moves should be made until you get closer to the point where you need to make a decision.

We already have a brick wall so another sniper with a good scope would be awesome.. and maybe a tough security guard next to the wall to make sure no underage beaches make it past the wall.

OK, this might not be popular but how about a big sell and a little buy.
Morgan Reilly who I do like out, take some of those assets and buy another D.
Team has rolled without Morgan.

It is not sustainable to be buyers every year.

I know it won't happen but I would be behind it.

Dubas has the perfect situation. Knies may already be one piece. If so, he only need a good dman. But this year many teams will want to move guys we could use i.e Kane. Dubas has no reason to panic or overpay when Tor doesn't even allow goals. I would like to trade Kerfoot and others and land Kane and a tough top 4 dman.

I've been wondering the same thing... swap Rielly for Chychrun.... save on cap. Have cap room for other moves... if it didn't cost any net assets, you'd have to consider it... injury concerns for Chychrun aside... he's been on a tear since getting back into the lineup.

6 years running we have not had the foot soldiers who could win the fights in the trenches. I think Knies will help but we need to add a large physical top 9 player and 1 big D

A top 6 forward, preferably A center that could play 3rd line and move to the 2nd line to play LW wing. I would love if we could get Toews. Jordan Greenway could also be a nice add, but I am sure the cost would be great.

Top 4 defenseman
Top 6 winger
3rd line checking winger/centre

I appreciate the hard work that Giordano is putting up right now. It hasn't gone unnoticed. But to think we're going to see the same level of play in games 75-82, might be too high of an expectation. That and hoping to go on a run, plays too much into that. Same goes for Holl. If they're slotted in correctly, I'm not sure what the bottom 4 looks like, but it could definitely improve.

Need an upgrade on 1 of either Kerfoot or Engvall. The eventuality is you're going to lose at least 1 in free agency and the Leafs love Kerfoot's ability to move around the line-up, so they will likely need an upgrade on Engvall. For money purposes, I think you look at Scott Laughton. 3rd line centre. Move him over to the wing if you like Kampf taking the draws.

Wish list:

1) Top6 forward
2) Top4 shutdown D-man
Rielly XXX
Sandin Brodie
Gio Liljegren

3) Top9 depth scorer (one of Kerfoot/Engvall or both traded)

4) Matthews to go super saiyan in the playoffs

5) Refs to not F over the Leafs

6) marner to cut down on giveaways in the playoffs

7) Tavares to produce in playoffs

8) Goal tending to hold up in playoffs -> no soft goals please

LETS GO!!!
