One of the worst reffed games I have seen in a long time. Just garbage.

McDavid needs a break...he just doesnt look right to me and now he will get a break. Probably 2 games.
I am not excusing it (still a bad reaction) but his cross check was an extention of the play up to that point.
It was connected to the frustration of Garland holding him down..
Myers on the other hand...his play was not connected to anything except stupidity. He should get 3 or 4 games IMO.

This team has made a habit of not starting the games on time and falling behind. So then they have to chase the game and even though they have been able to push though that a few times its not exactly a recipe for success. They were likely out of gas in this game considering how brutal this road trip was BUT they need to deal with that part of their game and be ready at puck drop.

These teams play again in 5 days. That should be interesting.

You could also make the argument that one of Vancouvers powerplay goals shouldn't have counted. Nuge and Nurse both could have drawn a call while on the PK but went ignored.

Edmonton has every right to complain about the reffing. The chances were also 4 for Vancouver and 2 for Edmonton so you can't even take the "refs put the whistles away" argument.

Sometime you have to create space for yourself so that liberties aren't taken.
I'd be ok if he did this a couple a times a year for a suspension.

Frustrating game. They seemed totally out of gas, and I think 15 shots confirms that. At least the road trip is over.

McDavid obviously reacted way too intensely at the end with the crosscheck, but I can imagine the frustration at being held down by Garland for basically 15 seconds in a 1 goal game. The NHL needs to get a handle on this kind of shit, because the dirty cross-check is a symptom of being obstructed, not an indictment on McDavid’s character.

It was a frustrating game for many reasons but the SOG was definitely part of that.
I mean I cant recall the shots after 2 periods but did the team get anything more than 1 shot on goal in the 3rd?
