I don't understand this move.

The problem isn't 62 and 13. The problem is MacKinnon and Rantanen standing still hoping for cross ice one timers and Makar's sudden refusal to shoot pucks.

29 is the biggest issue plaguing the PP now.
It's about mixing it up. We all know that moving 29, 96 or 8 to the 2nd unit is the last option.

Lehkonen isn’t a threat from the bumper and misses the net, doesn’t get the shot off, or puts it in the goalie’s logo. Absolute no brainer to put Colton back in that spot. He was much better at getting to a spot to free his stick and was a dangerous bumper to start the season. Nuke is a much better option for screens and jamming the net, but CM is a much better option for puck movement. Combining Colton and CM really opens up the flank to down low to bumper shot they haven’t had in their arsenal since Colton went down. I’d argue this PP formation has much better versatility now. We shall see.
