I think it's milano rust and the clinching issue not getting injured I played amazing to make up for it w Kincaid and Coleman OUTSome thoughts waking up today.
I worry we have a generational Superman QB that will be wasted.
Milano, I hope he can continue to get better but zero D snaps for WIlliams two weeks in a row is a worry as well (I know he is not perfect either). Milano has not fixed the run D and Carter's return did not help either.
The Bill's should have a Game Management Quality Specialist/Assistant on staff. Andy Reed went through some of the same types of issues.
The Bills were not prepared for the WR jet sweep game and took until later in the game to finally adjust (and still did not work on final Rams touchdown). I seen Rousseau and AJ get pushed around a lot on engaged blocks.
No sacks, no turnovers, 3 qb hits, Rams 3rd downs (11-15)
The two Pats games will not be a pushover
Injuries:
Rasul Douglas being banged up (back and knee) is a worry. Ingram is the backup.
Toohill (Ribs)
Rapp (Shoulder) returned
No he’s not. Calling him tomorrow@Der Jaeger isn't going to like this...DT Dontay Corleone staying in school for another season.
1. People complaining about penalties yesterday are grating. The offsetting penalties after Damar was CLEARLY holding onto the receiver was a gift of a call, if I've ever seen one. The misses went both ways. Move on. This was not a Mahomesian upset.
2. Speaking of Damar... I'm not sure if confirmation bias is setting in, but to me it seemed like he was consistently a liability. Cam Lewis came in for a minute, and stood out in a positive way; when your starting safety makes Cam Lewis look good, that's a problem.
3. I'm not going to complain too much about playcalling, because I would get buried in a head to head with even the most inept NFL playcaller. But I will say that not running a play before the two minute mark was a miss, IMO. That's a free timeout that was left on the table. I understand wanting to get the right play in. In that situation, though, take the free yards. Even if it's a half-assed pass attempt to nowhere, there's always the possibility of a PI or holding.
4. Bass hasn't been perfect since the Dolphins game, but he seems to be more himself. I had to look it up just to see that he's only missed one XPA and one FG since the 61-yarder. Like I said: not perfect, but better; I can live with better.
5. Special teams have been underwhelming for a while, now. It only gets worse when you watch a team like Pittsburgh consistently kill it. Things need to change this offseason.
6. It's taken a while to get to this point, but the defense did not disappoint. Stafford, Nakua and Rush just played out of their minds. Some of those passes, and receptions were unguardable. So, I can't fault our guys. Especially when you have Douglas, Benford and Johnson in the secondary, who have a history of reliability. The bigger issue, to me, was the performance of special teams.
7. If there is one thing that I take issue with on the defensive side of things, it's the play of the line. There is not one player who can consistently make it hard on an opposing quarterback, given a four man rush. Pressure has to come from a linebacker, or a cornerback blitzing, and that just leaves the backend exposed. Here's hoping Carter and Solomon change that.
8. Said it before, and I'll say it again: Rapp is a heat-seeking missile out there. Just totally incapable of differentiating between teammates and opponents. I didn't want him back, because I was worried he was going to take out one of our guys and in typical fashion he does just that.
He's going to wake up with a broken plastic folding table in his bed.@Der Jaeger isn't going to like this...DT Dontay Corleone staying in school for another season.
You worry because it's what's happening. It's now at least the second time he's had a monumental game for the history books, yet the team still loses due to very preventable mistakes. Some thoughts waking up today.

I mean it's the greatest Godfather related post I might of ever seen hereH

The Bills chances of winning were still extremely low, even if timeouts were utilized perfectly, they didn't accept the holding penalty on the Rams, and if they didn't call a sneak on 1st and goal.
As other have said, Nacua and Kupp are zone killers. It was a terrible matchup, especially with Nacua looking like Spiderman out there. My fantasy team was happy with his performance, but I...was not!Yup, the team lost because of the defense. Full stop. Yea, there was a complete bungling of the timeout situation, but the defense was horrible and why the team lost.
And the standard people are holding the bills to is getting ridiculous and honestly getting tough to even read. Like wow, we lost a regular season game our QB played great in and we are wasting his talent. We lost a close regular season game which means it’s another time this team came up short in the big moment. We haven’t won a Super Bowl in the four or five years this team has had the potential to so which means they will never get it done under these coaches.
Between the Sabres being awful and the bills fans being incredibly difficult to be around, I think it’s time to take a gooooood long break from this forum
Ok. Nvm. Forget what I wrote above. This team is screwed. Adams put a hex on them by just paying attention to them. Yuck! :p
Parsons has a $24M cap hit for next season on his fifth year option.
It would cause Beane to make even more tough decisions with core guys needing new deals over the next two offseasons if he were to trade for Parsons.
Beane has yet to build a difference making DL during his time as GM.Game breaked who would do wonders in this defense. I'd be interested.
Given that McD was hired before Beane and they both report directly to Terry Pegula, I doubt you see McD getting fired anytime soon. You don’t fire McDermott in the way you do Adams, which is to right the ship and set off in a new direction. You pivot from him to maximize your opportunity in the QB’s prime because he’s not the guy that is best equipped to take you all the way.
I don’t think you’re wrong. It would probably take an Allen mutiny and that’s not going to happen anytime soon, if ever.Given that McD was hired before Beane and they both report directly to Terry Pegula, I doubt you see McD getting fired anytime soon.
He is the kind of person that Pegula likes.
I don't think I'd cost all those players. Moving on from Von Miller frees up a lot of space right off the bat. Douglas is probably gone. But they'd make a tough choice on someone like Knox or Milano before moving on from Rousseau, Benford, Shakir, or Benard.Beane has yet to build a difference making DL during his time as GM.
He took the big swing with Von and that hasn't worked out.
Parsons is a premium guy in his prime. It would be intriguing.
But, it could cost them guys like Cooper, Douglas, Benford, Shakir, Bernard, Groot, and others.
They can't keep all of them. And if they add a big money edge rusher from outside like Parsons, it means fewer of those guys stick around.

From Ryan: "How much of the Bills' D getting demolished by the Rams is an indictment of the unit vs. 'sometimes you get got by a HOF QB-WR connection?'"
I didn't really touch on the Bills' side of things earlier when talking about this game, so I'll hit that point here. It's about 80% the latter. Buffalo pressured Stafford and threw weird rotations at him. It pressed Nacua, covered him with different bodies and flew to him in zone coverage. It just didn't really matter. Sometimes the other guys are cracked. C'est la vie.
The remaining 20% is focused on the Bills' run defense. It was far from a spectacular day for the Rams' running game -- Kyren Williams had 29 carries for 87 yards, and Blake Corum added another 34 yards on eight carries -- but some of the late-game clock grinding conceals the issue. The Bills continue to lose to bigger offensive lines and running games that get additional bodies into the blocking scheme. That's significant with a date against the Lions upcoming. And for the AFC playoff picture, it's worth wondering what happens when they meet the Chargers or Steelers -- let alone the Ravens -- again.
