Tampa, FL.
The committee is much more lenient on losses, provided you only have 1 or I guess 2 now, when you have stronger wins.
And yet Bama and Mississippi have 3. They'll be ahead of some 2 loss teams no doubt, but not those from a power 4 conference with just 1.

I guess we’ll see. It’s uncharted waters.

The question they always asked on the networks is what do you think happens if they lined up on a neutral field? Indiana would be double digit underdogs against both.

Not the way both have been playing this season. Indiana beat who they had in.front of them aside from Ohio St. Mississippi lost at home to 4-7 Kentucky and Bama has lost to two unranked opponents. Neither of them is deserving at all.

Also… if Clemson beats South Carolina this weekend.. do they get in over a 3 L SEC team?

The way I see it right now barring something f***ing crazy.

Texas
Georgia
Tennessee
Indiana
Oregon
Ohio State
Penn State
Notre Dame
SMU
Miami
Boise/Tulane
B12 winner

It wouldn’t really make sense but maybe Clemson or a 3 L SEC team gets in over the loser of the ACC title game?

Speculation is that as long as The U beats the Cuse and does not get blown out by SMU they'll make it to the CFP. I'd be rather upset if Clemson got in over The U just by not having to play in the ACCTG.

I don’t think Miami can get left out at this point unless Cam Ward gets hurt. Either game would be a good enough loss.

Yeah I think what I wrote is probably the most accurate unless something wild happens this weekend or A&M wins the SEC title game.

Well there are people like Haether Dinich that are already lobbying for a 3 loss SEC team to make the CFP and the fact that Alabama only dropped to #13 in the AP after getting boat raced by Oklahoma is very concerning. Right now I don't trust the process enough to be comfy with a loss still getting us in.

They also had a bunch of teams behind them lose, so they can only drop so much. 6 spots is a lot. Are they worse than Arizona State?

It’s crazy years ago people bitched and complained about the BCS and yet this new system with the committee is worse. There is no way Alabama with 3 losses who just got their asses kicked by a 6-5 Oklahoma team should be anywhere near a playoff spot. They put Alabama at #13 on purpose. So if anyone screws up in the next couple of weeks they can go and bump Bama up one into #12. It’s a joke

“But you gotta look at it as if they were playing on a neutral field” no I don’t! The results of the games being played the past 11 weeks count for something and that something is Bama doesn’t deserve to be in the playoff no matter if they would be favoured at a neutral site

Its so blatantly obvious. Of course teams ahead of them will lose in the next 2 weeks and they should easily beat Auburn & then sit on their asses during Championship week ensuring they don't fall again.

I'm sure this is satire (maybe?) but regardless, while it is amusing to a degree, posters like this are among the reasons why I don't post on football forums anymore. Just way too much TMI. I'm sure the responses became very NSFW

I avoid all Buckeyes forums. They’re full of lunatics.

Committee hasn’t revealed the rankings yet. That’s the AP poll.

That said, of the teams behind Alabama, who is better? SEC teams with 3 losses being mid-teens is generally about where they land after 11 games.

Assuming ASU beats UofA, but then loses a close game against whoever they might play(looks like Iowa State is in the driver seat), is there any chance that they might still make it with 3 losses, or do they have to basically win the next 2 games to make the playoff?
