He recorded 2 goals and assist in the last game. After his return from AHL, he´s doing pretty well.

one good game, need to see a lot more

would be great if he could break out (x1000) to put himself into consideration for Team Canada 2026

If Shane Wright is in consideration for Team Canada in 2026, there would have to have been a plague in Canada that targeted hockey players specifically.

43 points in 56 games in the AHL. I could only imagine the state of this board if the Habs drafted him 1OA like they were supposed to.
Who said they were suppose to lol?

Anyone following the draft that year knew there was a very likely chance Wright wasn't going 1.

The lack of quality of the top of that draft class was way overblown. Going to be a lot of good players coming out of that top 10.

Drafts are typically remembered in part by who is the headliner for that particular year.

In 2022, there was no headliner. Wright was considered to be one except his stock kept falling as we got closer.

It's not that it can't be a draft that doesn't produce good players at the top. It was just missing the that marquee headliner.

A thread cause a guy had one good game? If that is the case, then about 400 NHL players need threads.

It’s like OP saw the Slafkovsky thread, the Laf thread, and said “3 points!? Surely this falls into the same category.”

Idk if Wright ever gets good, I suppose I hope so. But ya, premature. Steve Bernier friggin rocked in his Sabres debut, 2g 1a I believe. You don’t remember him for a reason.

Obviously this thread is a response to the thread about Juraj Slafkovsky. When Shane Wright shows progress and production over the course of a couple of months, rather than a couple of games, feel free to discuss.

They're both super disappointing - people can talk about it all they want. So insecure!

Agreed, Slaf, Cooley, Nemec all look legit for their draft position. Wright coming on shouldn't be a huge surprise.

I keep reading him being criticized (like Laf and Slaf)... I think he'll end up being an awesome hockey player!

I think Ben Chiarot had a 3 pt night this year, so maybe he will breakout as the next Cale Makar.
