Yeah, you take Lafreniere and then trade Georgiev, the other first round pick, a defensive prospect, whatever, and get back up and get Lundell.
There is your future 1C flanked by two 80 point wingers.

Other teams manage to pay 3-4 stars. Worry about that when we get there. We have a lot of money coming off the books soon, and Kakko is not gonna demand max money in the next 2 years anyway, he’s on an ELC.

His ELC is up after 2 more seasons and he looked like the best player on our team in that series, if he doesn't get his big deal in 2 years, then it'll be in 4 years after a bridge deal. And I don't trust this team to not give Zibanejad a huge contract in 2 years when his deal is up, then you get to Shesterkin, Fox, ADA, Buch, etc
