OT: We Are Absolutely Finished

Let's look at it objectively.

WC2 is currently pacing to 90pts. So let's say the target is 92pts to get in.

That means we need 30 pts to get there, with 24 games to go:

15-9-0
14-7-3
13-7-4
12-6-6

Is it impossible? Of course not.

Do I think we can achieve a record like that, considering the history of this team and the fact that we're in the midst of a 5 game losing streak where we've been outscored 23-8?

Of course not.

The team was really coming together before the injuries and playing better hockey than we’ve seen all year.

A lot is going to depend on how quickly our injured players find their games imo. Ullmark has been slow to find his form, and going back earlier this season Pinto really struggled coming back.

We don’t have the luxury of time. If Pinto, Norris and Tkachuk can’t come back and basically just pick up from where they left off, it’s going to be the nail in the coffin.

But this team can be impressive when everyone’s going, so we just have to hope they come back soon, Ullmark settles in and they’re all ready to go.

I wouldn't say they have to come back "soon".

I'd say they have to come back on Wednesday.

SJ is a must win and then you have WSH, CHI, NYR, DET, PHI, BOS, TOR, MTL, COL.

That's not the "easy" schedule I read about.

2 we "should" win games: SJ, CHI
5 toss ups: MTL, DET, PHI, NYR, BOS
3 we're the underdog: WSH, TOR, COL

You need to get 6-4, at worst.

My version of soon was Saturday lol. I don’t even know if we can beat SJ with this line-up. If not all 3 at least 1 or 2 of them.
 
You know folks, the classics are a classic for a reason. A classic Adrianopolous post can be like a warm blanket, something you can curl into after a hard day of the sens continuing their losing streak.

I hope Brady, Norris and Big Pinto come back soon. The team were icing right now is hella bad and not enjoyable to watch, plus it's a roster we're icing at the worst time. It is frustrating to hear that Staios won't find someone for Timmy's wing. Wasted potential due to cap inflexibility/a seeming lack of urgency to make a change. It is insane to not have a better understanding of injury time frames.

The worst part of this iteration of the Sens, IMO, is their uncanny ability to fold when it counts. From untimely injuries to lazy performance and sloppy play, they just find a way to lose. It feels inevitable.

But what's even worse than that on a personal level, is that I still want them to succeed. So badly. I want playoffs. I want to see this almost mythical creature in Brady on full display wearing a Sens uniform dominating a series. I want to see Timmy light it up under pressure. I want Sanderson to show the league what he's capable of. Hell, I even want Batherson to find his groove and play with jam every night.

So just, like, do it already.

But I wish these boards could kick off all the sandbaggers and ass draggin’ fans at 11pm on April 7 when we find out our playoff opponent is so we believers dont have to listen to these sucks limp takes about a team they have no faith in. Weaklings and suckholes all of you and you know who you are.
 
Looking at the schedule I see maybe 10 points from teams well below the Sens in the standings that they should get.

After that, there are a lot of games vs teams still in the playoff race that will be much harder to get.

You’re entitled to your opinion… as is everyone else.

I believe there is a block or ignore function if you really want to live in an echo chamber.

Yeah! Totally not accurate! It should be a picture of sledge hockey players in senators uniform!

Those wheelchairs clearly don't have winter tires! Unsafe and will cause injuries.
