I would think Brady is smart enough to avoid any place without a QB.

Of the open spots, the only place I think might interest him is Jacksonville because he was born and raised in FL (though in Miami) and they have the QB in place already.
Yeah I thought about them earlier ... that actually might be a good fit. The question is...does he see Trevor Lawrence as salvageable?

The Broncos are going to be a tough matchup. Im hoping McDermott makes Nix look like a rookie. The defense should be healthy, so that helps.

Denver has a good defense, though. I havent dug deep into what theyre great at, but Id assume theyre tough to pass on. Hopefully, we can get the run game going.

Oh boy, will next year be the Dolphins 'retool' year. I'd love to see how that pans out for them.

Sure in the playoffs anyone can beat anyone on any Sunday

Denver had a weak schedule they went 6-1 against nfc south, jets, colts, hawks, 3-3 in div. 1-3 afc north

They are 1-6 vs playoff teams. They beat TB jumping out to s 17-0 score early with turnovers/ stoos and Bucs took them softly

They went I think 1-6 in one score games

They are a RB by committee team. Nix doesnt run other than the occasional scramble and run

They beat Bills last yr 24-22 with help of 4 TOs by buffalo where the TOs gave them a short field or took away on off opportunity by buffalo

I'm with Greg here. I think Anarumo is one of the best defensive minds in the business. He got the axe because they gutted the talent on that side of the ball.

I agree he's a great DC, but in fairness, they spent a decent amount on that defense (4th in cash on defensee). A lot of swings and misses, though.

I'm personally hoping the Patriots land Vrabel. He's competent but I'd much rather him than pairing Maye with an offensive mind like Ben Johnson.
My hope is Johnson goes to the Bears (but that's a gauntlet of a division and he faces his old team twice so prob not) and Vrabel takes the better Jags job (good defense already and a solid offense, paired with a shit division).

I selfishly want Johnson to stay in the NFC, he is a great play caller

I'm an Ohio State fan so I have an extra soft spot for Vrabel. I agree he's the best experienced coach on the market but at the same time I think he's ... kinda overrated. Solid, but not spectacular. We're not talking a resurrected Belichick here (not to mention the tree of Belichick connected coaches is a pretty poor bunch). Playoffs three times in six seasons and two of those were one-and-done appearances. He strikes me as ... fine?

(I don't know what I'm complaining about here I wish the Pats nothing but mediocrity or worse from now until the end of time. I just feel like Vrabel's getting a little more gassed up than he may deserve).

I hope every competent coach finds a job in the NFC and nobody in the AFC East gets something good from the draft and the AFC coaching vacancies are filled in by the Arthur Smiths and Matt Nagys and Nathaniel Hacketts of the NFL coaching circle.

Vrabel is a good coach and really built good defenses (at least from what I remember) but the offense always left a lot to be desired and when Tannehill fell off, the defense couldn't carry the offense every week. If he has a good QB and coordinator, whatever team he goes to will be contenders imo

I get where your thought process is, but Vrabel is a very good coach. Right now Ben Johnson might be a good head coach, but he might also be the next Matt Nagy or Josh McDaniels. The number of brilliant offensive minds that actually become good head coaches are probably fewer than most people realize (especially ones that don't come from the Shanahan coaching tree).

The Sean McVays and Kyle Shanahans are more the exception than the norm.

Perhaps you don't think Vrabel is that great, but I do and I'd rather they have an unknown commodity than a known really solid guy leading the operation.

Great play caller != great head coach.

I want all the good coaches to go to College, all the good QBs to retire, and every game look like the dodgeball scene from Billy Madison. Alas, other teams want to actually win and not give everything easy to the Bills.

I don't think the operator is always wrong. Reid is a great play caller and great head coach. Mcvay and Shannahan are other examples. Then you have Daboll, Spagnuolo, Nagy who suck at being a head coach.

Yeah its not a great logical operator for this. Some are. I'm just saying that just because they are a good play caller it doesn't mean they will make a good head coach. A lot more too it.

McD today:
-Damar is the starter and that's how we will go into this game.
-Codrington is dealing with a hamstring (4th in league in p/r avg btw)

We will be pretty healthy going in unlike the last 2 years so no more BS. Go out and get that ring...

I'm confident about this game but if I had any concerns it would be that Denver pass rush. I have faith in our line though. This is by far our best Oline we've had in the McD/Allen era...But regardless , watch out for Bonitto and company. .
