Just for fun I tried to make WCup Team Europe's updated roster for this coming year and compare it to the actual roster that played at WCup in 2016.
I am not entirely sure about requirements to be able to play for Team Europe, but I used players from respective countries who played at least 1 game in the NHL this season (assuming everybody is healthy).
Feel free to discuss my roster decisions and line combos.

Which roster is better in your opinions?
Will there even be such concept as Team Europe at next World Cup of Hockey?

2016 WCup Team Europe roster:

Tatar - Kopitar - Hossa
Gáborík - Nielsen - Zuccarello
Vanek - Bellemare - Hansen
Rieder - Draisaitl - Niederreiter

Josi - Seidenberg
Chára - Sekera
Ehrhoff - Streit

Halák, Grubauer, Greiss

2022 WCup Team Europe projected roster:

Ehlers - Kopitar - Meier
Stützle - Draisaitl - Bjorkstrand
Fiala - Hischier - Niederreiter
Tatar - Eller - Zuccarello

Josi - Seider
Siegenthaler - Černák
Fehérváry - Sekera

Andersen, Grubauer, Halák

Still not liking the idea of pan-european team, they should be at least germans in one line, dane in second, swiss in third and then the rest

Interesting idea with the nationality lines.

Swiss they can almost make an argument for their own team given their forwards, but they are still lacking Dmen and goalies.

Kopitar over draisaitl for the first line Center?

Originaly had him as #1C but then decided to flip him to 2nd line to be with fellow German Stutzle.
But Stutzle would only benefit to play with one of the best defensive C's so Kopitar as #2C and Drai as #1C is maybe even better.

A WC with theese "NA under 23" and "Team Europe" etc. is pure shit. Why not then "Team Scandinavia":

Landeskog - Barkov - Rantanen
Hintz - Aho - Nylander
Ehlers - Zibanejad - Forsberg
Granlund - Bäckström - Lindholm

Laine,Teräväinen, Pettersson, Raymond, Puljujärvi

Hedman - Karlsson
Dahlin - Lindholm
Heiskanen - Lindell

Klingberg, Hakanpää

Saros
Markström
Rask

Don't want to nitpick but team Scandinavia would ony consist of Norway, Denmark & Sweden...

So, a team Sweden with Andersen as a back up goalie, Ehlers on the wing and maybe Zuccarello somewhere as well.

Well, lets drop Denmark and Norway and go back to "Sverige-Finland" of before 1808. Ehlers out and Laine, TT or Pettersson in.

Technically speaking super small portion of Finland is in Scandinavian side but not entire Finland, that is Fennoscandia

Denmark is scandinavia also because it used to rule over Norway

What would a ''team over 35-year olds'' look like? Would Ovie be their captain? Who'll have the A on their chests?
Assuming you mean 35 and older instead of over 35:

Ovechkin(A)-Bergeron(C)-Pavelski
Stastny-Getzlaf(A)-Wheeler
Spezza-Carter-Radulov
Parise-Bozak-Hornqvist

Goligoski-Burns
Giordano(A)-Suter
Edler-Stralman

Fleury
Quick

This would be a pretty epic team in an epic concept. It would probably hurt Team Russia and USA the most though.
