Demko can't even take a shot in practice yet, he's not coming back. Nor is DeSmith, unless Silovs suddenly turns into the "3rd string inexperienced AHL backup" that way too many people who should know better (including Kevin freakin' Bieksa!) have been calling him. This guy is no greenhorn and has seen real pressure. I'm betting he remains tough to beat and his fate largely lies in the hands of his teammates.
Demko likely back by game 5 apparently.

Note to Oilers' fans. This episode is sponsored by the Bayside Oceanfront Resort. The ocean is a very large body of water.

I don't know if it needs to be mentioned but KH is just a spokesperson at this point Jeff Jackson is pretty much running the team now

A good lesson for Canucks fans is that teams don't maintain 12.5% shooting at 5v5.

Canucks had a very hot run, but the team has returned to normal shooting % in the last half of the season and the playoffs.

If your team is shooting abnormally high over the course of a season, expect it to end at some point.

Canucks haven't been the same team since the shooting % dried up obviously.
Still good enough to hold off the Oilers for first despite that the fact that the Oilers were challenging for top spot with a few weeks left. Obviously the winning streak the Oilers were on was unsustainable and they tailed off near the end. A good lesson for Oiler fans here. You don’t get to pick what parts of the season count and what don’t count.

Can somebody wake me up when this series finally begins...must be some kind of record this kind of break...

On the other hand this could be the longest pre game series talk EVER in sports history ;-)

Now one sentence to topic, the winner of this series will be the one who wins Game 1.

I think winner of the last game is gonna end up more important than the first.

This is a wild thing to say while believing it’s an advantage for the Canucks.
Canucks don’t have a more talented roster. Everyone agreed media and fans alike before this season. Everyone had the Oilers winning the division. That didn’t happen though, because the Canucks are better coached. Even with Oilers coaching change, and the Canucks’ own adversity, Canucks still won the division.

The music and drums are starting to sound a lot like pre-season, and all I say is, wait until the puck drops because a well-coached team can punch above their weight.

This doesn't make any sense because the Oilers have a better record than the Canucks under their current coach.

You saying that EP falls because he’s weak is anecdotal at best. He dives like the best of them.

Integrity is certainly important. Which is why whining about refs before the series has started is such a tough look but one that the fan base has wholeheartedly embraced.

These preemptive excuses about the Oilers diving for power plays from a Canucks fan of all people is hilarious.

Draisaitl is incredibly sturdy on his skates, he rarely goes down easy.

If you’re desperate to find something to slander Draisaitl with then maybe try finding something that’s actually true. Like how he’s pretty dirty and how at times he can be a hot head who takes undisciplined penalties at inopportune times.

Drai does not go down easy. What?

EP should not be unbalanced as a professional athlete. That’s ridiculous. He’s a pure flopper if that’s the case

Yes I called Draisaitl a diver. For some reason its always soft calls the Oilers never fail to capitalize on. The Oilers PP is a deadly weapon, this isn't news. Less opportunities the better for Vancouver.

Draisaitl is terrific player though, and hopefully I'm wrong about that.

I never said the Oilers didn’t almost catch up, the Canucks held them off. It makes sense if you read it again. I’m not going to ignore Oilers season before the coaching change.

Yeah, exactly. I get that nobody follows our team as closely as us homers do...

But Silovs is a highly skilled, bizarrely flexible, 6'4 goaltending prospect who was hand-selected and trained by the goalie guru Ian Clark. He is raw, but he is good.

Could things fall a part for him? Absolutely. But not every team has a Silovs tbh.
I am a Sabres fan--I have the Nucks in 6 without Demko and less if he comes back

No, you said this:
"That didn’t happen though, because the Canucks are better coached. Even with Oilers coaching change, and the Canucks’ own adversity, Canucks still won the division."

Canucks’ adversity is the loss of their starting goaltender. Good coaching kept them from falling too far. Oilers won the division last year with the coach that failed them early this season. It was more than coaching that had the Oilers out.
