Sure, I took the top 12 forwards and top 6 defenseman.

Dallas - 810 points in 1317 Games = 0.62 PPG Average among starting 18.

Winnipeg - 726 points in 1339 Games = 0.54 PPG Average among starting 18.

As previously concluded, Dallas has more fire power. Hopefully you are happy now and I don't need to include the goalies next.

If people want to keep refuting my points, let's come up with some analysis and statistics to show the Winnipeg has more firepower. Rather than personal thoughts and feelings or disagreeing with the general sentiment of the thread.

Why are you looking at points and not just raw goal totals?

Last time I checked, assists don't show up on the scoreboard. Doesn't make any sense to include them

Just to be clear... you're arguing that Dallas has more firepower because of a .02 goals per game per player difference?

You're looking at a one group who averaged (according to your math) 3.61 Goals per game vs another group that had 3.30 Goals per game?

Essentially, your math says that if this series goes 7 Games, the Stars will likely score 2 more goals than the Jets over that span

To me, that seems pretty equal and is not likely to play a determining role in the series. It will come down to whatever team can keep the puck out of the net

Dallas was always a deep offensive team, but with the additions of Granlund and Rantanen I feel it's pretty unmatched.

Can't rush the guy before he's ready, but I really hope Miro is back no later than Game 3. If Helly plays well and the Jets take advantage of our defense, we'll need all the offense we can get. 5-4 incoming, hopefully Dallas scores the 5 and finally snaps the Game 1 losing streak.

Don't think the Jets want to get into a track meet with the Stars. There's too much firepower on your side. The Jets held them to 5 goals in 4 games this year, and that's probably the goal, low scoring, low event hockey. There's a little excitement here because our team hasn't had its full slate of forwards in these playoffs, and that has had some impact on the PP, which was not very good in the Blues series, minus a few big goals.

If Heiskanen or Morrissey miss the start the opposing coaches will be trying to attack the weak links on defense, that's likely.

Samberg vs. Rantanen is going to be a key matchup in the first 2 games. The Jets held him to a 1g, 1a in 7 games this year.

I personally thought Winnipeg needed to win this game especially with how it played out - instead, the Stars up 1-0 in a winnable game and have stolen away home ice advantage, and will get Heiskanen back at some point in this series (If I had to guess, probably game 3).

Feels like the Stars and the Oilers are on a collision course.
