Kind of wondering if the Canucks have a bit of mental letdown after last nights game...The momentum shift has to be riding on the side of Nashville for this game.

IMO - the Canucks have been pretty good at resetting and bouncing back all year. I expect they’ll be ready to go. Whether it’s enough to get the job done will be the question, as the Preds have shown to be a resilient bunch as well.

We really, really need our offense to break through, here. Can’t have another 1 goal game, and our stars need to lead the way.

Last game was a tightly contested, evenly-matched game. They lost. You will lose some games. I thought, visually, they actually created their best chances of any game in the series. So that's a positive.

They gave themselves three chances to close it out. That's one. Just get it done on Friday.

If they can repeat their G5 five performance, I think they will.

DeSmith or Silovs?

Mikhayev in your top3 lines? And if not who comes into his spot

Suter Hoglander do we keep these guys where they are?

Stack 2 lines or roll 3 with 9 40 and Lindholm down the middle?

Rick needs to do something. The only change he's made all series is Lafferty swapping with Mikheyev

Suter- Miller - Boeser
Hoglander - Lindholm - Pettersson
Joshua - Bleuger - Garland
PDG - Lafferty/Aman - Mikheyev

I would insert Podkolzin in for PDG but I know Tocchet won't. PDG was also pretty good on the PK so I can see the rationale for leaving him in.

Lines need a bit of a shake up - moving Lindholm up could help both Petey and Hog as they had some success earlier in the year. Reunite Bleuger with Garland and Joshua and hopefully you have 3 strong lines. 4th line is just a spare parts line - not sure how confident the team is with Lafferty playing C so maybe inserting Aman could be an option

Those who hate fancy stats - look away.

Canucks' HDCF% is 61.43% (2nd highest in play-offs), yet HDSH% is 10% (lowest in play-offs). This made me go ''well, that matches the eye test'' and ''Christ'' simultaneously.

Translation for us dummies?

Take a tequilla shot everytime a Canuck chooses to slap pass rather than shoot. Youll be wasted by 1st intermission and blacked out by the end of the game.

Whats the point of Hronek having a bomb of a shot if all if he is going to do is try and hit skates , hoping for a deflection with a slap pass.

Just let it rip. The fact that we have 90 shots in 5 games is absolutely pathetic especially since Saros is struggling and fighting the puck.

IMO Tochett is getting outcoached in this series. He hasnt been able to figure out how to gain the advantage in the neutral zone and have sustained attack on this Nashville defense that has the likes of Barrie, Fabbro and other plugs in it.

One last observation, Boeser sucks when it comes to Powerplay entries. The puck and play always dies on his stick when we try and gain entry on the PP. He has no clue what to do when he pass it to him in the entry and he is on the wingboard. Tochett might want to change that and have Boeser be the guy we do the drop pass too so he can be in the neutral zone with speed rather than the board guy for the entry.

Momentum is shifting in this series, unfortunately. Last night's loss almost ensures the series is going seven....and in a do or die game, almost anything can happen.

Every playoff series is like a lab experiment. You find out in hurry where your team is really at....versus playing a bunch of tired lottery teams, finishing out a season or a long road-trip.

You can already see the Canucks need more size up front, and a more production from their bottom-six. But that's a project or the off-season.

They seem afraid to simply take shots they don't think will be a goal despite dirty rebounds being exactly how you score in the playoffs. Who cares if Hronek's slapper doesn't hit the net. Make Nashville terrified of blocking it so eventually they either stop altogether or get hesitate which will open up new passing lines.

Our obsession in looking for the perfect set play is exactly why we have so few shots on goal. Saros has been rather chaotic to boot, and they aren't taking advantage of that whatsoever.

The coaching staff has to wear a lot of that. It's obvious that's what the players are being told/directed to do.

They have to start shooting the puck more look at the Lindholm goal in game 1 and Zadorovs goal last night. Saros definitely has his weaknesses.
They need to post "shoot the puck" on the board in dressing room !! Can't score if don't shoot. Stop looking for the perfect shot ugly goals count to and we need some !

I have a feeling that this game is going to be a blow out either way. The Canucks get absolutely rolled or the Canucks turn Saros into mincemeat.

So I was looking at face-offs number because it seemed like Lindholm, Miller Petey are the only ones taking them and Blueger seems to not be taking a ton. And that was exactly the case. I think this is why they want to keep Lindholm, Petey, and Miller on separate lines. If they put Lindholm with Petey or Miller they would not be able to use Miller or Lindholm enough to cover Blueger (27%) and Lafferty (surprisingly around 50%) in face-off dot. Having to cover one line in the face-offs is one is manageable but two is much harder thing to do.

Lafferty is actually doing a good job in the face-off dot so leave him on the fourth line to take face-offs and shelter him so that he doesn't take many defensive zone face-off. And they could cover Blueger every now and then. But we know Tocchet is stubborn and will keep Miller-Petey-Lindholm-Blueger down the middle.
