I almost feel like my nerves might not handle game 7 tomorrow. I should just skip the game, don’t look at the score, and when it’s over, open the NHL app and just look at the series won column not even the score and pray that it says Col won the series
Man.... this is exactly why I say there is no sport that can touch the NHL for both the exhiliration of victories and the existential dread of losses.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs is a guantlet. It's a testement to will, determination and the ability to overcome basically everything. The toll is shown on the faces of every player still playing. And in the soul of every fan still watching.

Trust me I’m a lot better now days. Back in the playoffs in 2000s, I would actually be so superstitious that there were some games which I felt if I watched them at home, we would lose, so I’d go to the batting cage where I worked (on my off days or after work hours) we had a TV with cable, and watch those games there. Talk about a nut case I was back then

I agree Blackwood has to be at least good. He needs to be above average and make a few big saves. If he does that, I like our chances.

But in reality, it comes down to Cale. He's our best player. He's had some of the best looks in the series. He needs to break through and score.

Here's the recipe:

- Cale goal
- PP goal (could be the Cale goal) / outscore on special teams
- Blackwood solid

Bonus:
- 4th line goal

That wins the series tomorrow.

I feel like every game 7 we've had with this core has been cursed. Landeskog offisde in SJ, Landeskog out due to cut vs Dallas, no Nuke or Landeskog in G7 against the Kraken plus the worst Cup hangover. I hope they at least make tomorrow interesting. That game against SJ was immediately deflating with early goals pl.us MacKinnon shoulder injury.

Just a moment ago, driving down the highway I had my Avs playlist blasting on shuffle from Spotify.

As 'Rock And Roll Part II' ended, Claude de Bussy's 'Claire de Lune, L.32' came on (remember that glorious slo-mo video of the '22 Avs clinching, with that song playing).

The moment the song started I looked up to the sky and saw a wedge of cranes flying in perfect unison, like a team seamlessly committed to their roles. It was beautiful.

Bring on Game 7 and let our Avs be as locked in and magnificent.

Good morning.

Still betting all of the slashes Cale has taken has done some nice damage to his wrist based on the still photos and lack of accuracy. Hopefully when its all said and done its not broken but I would almost be a bit surprised if it isnt. He was getting slashed hard on it going into the playoffs, and now it's obviously to an even higher degree.

Betting market isn't always rational. Dallas is definitely the favourite. Taking account everything and our Game 7 PTSD. Dallas is the favourite.
The betting market is looking at head-to-head stats during THIS series. We've out-shot and out-chanced them by a mile.

The fact that Deboer is 8-0 in game 7s is irrelevant to bettors, and should be to everyone else.

Jared Bednar is the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche. Gabriel Landeskog was activated and deemed healthy. I don't give a f*** who said no, it was the wrong response.

It was also the wrong response to limit his minutes in game 2.

If he wasn't ready to go, he should not have been f***ing activated. If you are good to go, you must go. What the f*** are you saving it for? There is no tomorrow in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There is only tonight. Until you are out of tonights.

The Avs are guilty of trying to make a hollywood moment out of Gabe's return on home ice in the playoffs. Someone needs to pay the price for that hubris.
While I totally understand your point of view, I think it comes down to the fact that it is playoff hockey...against Dallas....and they really didn't know how Gabe could fit in to gauge his ability. Hell, I thought he was going to be on the third line at best and potentially hamstring it a bit getting up to speed. I am still in awe that he has simply come in and become the Viking of old. There is simply no precedent for doing what he has done and no matter what happens, if he goes into next year with no issues, its a miracle....like Peyton Manning neck surgery gamble miracle or even greater. I think Bedsy has always played it safe, for right or wrong, and he couldn't believe what he was seeing with Gabe....because I sure can't. Colton going down gave him an easy choice either way. I would love to see Colton back though and Drouin eating nachos.

So many players on our team feel like they still have to have a big game or a big moment. I feel like a lot of Dallas players already had theirs. That gives me a bit of hope.

That and the fact that Stars fan say Oettinger has at least one terrible game per series and that also hasn't happened yet. Would be so lovely to get an absolute stinker from him.
