Well, if we want some adversity, it will come in Game 7.

- DeBoer is 8-0 in Game 7s.
- Bednar is 0-3 in Game 7s.
- DeBoer has beaten Bednar in 2 Game 7s.
- Avs haven’t won a Game 7 in 23 years.
- Game is in Dallas.
- Heiskanen likely to play.

If we want a challenge, it’s coming on Saturday night.
You can add the Avs have never won a Game 7 away from home.

If Biscuit can't play Game 7 after that hit (I know he returned but let's be real he probably shouldn't have), do they put in Heiskanen? Do they put him in anyways? Is a rusty 70% Heiskanen in a Game 7 an advantage for us?

Once again after sleeping on it. Stating the obvious, but one of the strangest games in recent memory. Liked the first period after the first 5 mins or so. Colorado did look timid to start, but once Val scored we sort of settled in.
Second period was fire wagon hockey. At least in my eyes. I read many blaming Blackwood, which I get, we all want saves, but dude has a wide open 50 goal scoring Mikko in front. I get it, want a big save, Mikko sort of goes five hole along the ice, doesn't look good, but the dude is WIDE open. I was more miffed at cheating Nate and Manson going for a skate. Overall Blackwood was left alone and it does make us mad when Jake is playing out of his mind at the other end and has two posts for help as well.
Third, I honestly thought we were done. Didn't really see the drive from the Avs until Val scored again. We all saw Nate's goal, pure hockey Gods on that.
Thought we played well, with a dip, big dip in the second. No guess what happens Saturday, this series has had way to many ups and downs to really guess that.

My two cents.....

I very much appreciate the Avs managed to ruin the 'Mikko four points to end his old teams season' narrative that seemed inevitable after the second period. Hopefully that was the flash of revenge we all feared from Mikko this series and he can go back to being a no show.

- Heiskanen likely to play.

This is going to be very interesting. If Heiskanen was so close, why not play him in game 6 and give him a freebie game to work on getting up to playoff game speed? The fact that they didn't implies he's not as close as they want shim to be.

And I agree we most likely see him tomorrow. But out of desperation, not because he's progressed significantly since game 6. This guy hasn't played at game speed since January, is recovering from knee surgery, and has only started seriously skating in the last few weeks. IMO, there's as much of a chance that his return in this fashion hurts the Stars than helps them.

tl;dr: I don't think he's ready.

Wouldn’t want it any other way.

I just saw that Landeskog ended up with 19:36 of ice time last night. It’s climbing every single game.

Remaining very effective:

Lmao we moved to a new house (thank god) but the Internet isn't able to be transferred over by Telus until Tuesday those assholes.
The joys of moving. Had the same internet problem when I moved into my house. Was a long few days. Peak Canadian teleco service to not be able to transfer it faster

Congrats on the house!

Dallas is imo, the toughest matchup for Colorado in the West, just need one more W.

This can’t be understated.

Win Game 7 in Dallas, get the monkey off our back, and the sky is the limit for this team.

I’ve watched almost every series and although of course I’m biased, the level of hockey in this series far surpasses pretty much all others. This legitimately looks like a Stanley Cup final.

Nothing matters except for what happens in game 7, but so far at even strength this series:

Shot Attempts: 405-288 Avalanche

Shots on Goal: 181-125 Avalanche

Scoring Chances: 189-131 Avalanche

High Danger Chances: 80-53 Avalanche

xGF: 19.31-13.75 Avalanche

Actual Goals Scored: 18-12 Avalanche
Fire Ray Bennett

This really has set up for the ultimate make or break moment for this core. They slayed a demon or two en route to a Cup, but nothing compares to this opportunity. Dallas and DeBoer embody everything that has stood in their way since their contention window opened. And now they have two bitter exes on the other side.

Win and they gain the biggest possible momentum swing to make a deep run. Lose to these f***ers again and there's instantly hell to pay.
Yup, well said!
It's a little crazy that this series is going to 7. The Avs have been the better team in 5 of the 6 games. Clearly better in 3, slightly better in 2. That series should be over. Oettinger is playing so well that its scary. I'm sooooo hoping that they will win Game 7. Otherwise we'll keep hearing that Bednard is being outcoached, whereas if anything, its the opposite that is happening. But this is a result business, so.... got to WIN!!!!

Some things to consider:

1) Mikko Rantanen has 7 points his last 2 games. I'm wondering if that hot streak continues or if the Avs were able to stomach this and he doesn't produce next game.

2) Jake Oettinger has been fantastic in this series yet the Avalanche have beaten him 18 times through 6 games. Can he continue to keep the Stars in games?

3) Matt Duchene has 1 single assist this series. Does he wake up in game 7?

Come on, Avs. Get this done.

Three things have sunk us so far.

1. Oettinger has been keeping the Stars in these games, especially at 5 on 5
2. Our shooting percentage seems pretty bad, especially Makar - 4%!!!
3. Our special teams have been generally rancid, special shout out to the PP for having late chances in games 2 and 3. We went 0/6 in game 3.

If one of these changes in game 7 we have a good shot.
