Meh, a shutout is a shutout, ceremonial souvenir puck or no. Although Dallas might be stupid enough to think that stealing the puck negates the shutout or lossDallas stole Blackwood's shutout puck? That calls for blood.

The Avs should give him a shutout placque and where you normally mount a puck....just stick a piece of white equipment tape with the games stats on it and a brass plate that reads, puck stolen by Mikko Rantanen and Matthew Duchene on 4.26.25.Meh, a shutout is a shutout, ceremonial souvenir puck or no. Now imagine we can win game 5 in Dallas and go home with the chance to finish this.
This was beautiful. Especially the second period. Can we play like that again please…like every single game? That kind of hockey would make neutral person a fan, no doubt.
Happy for Landy, that was brilliant goal. Exactly what we needed to have something to show for all that dominance we had up until that point. And his assist to Girard goal made me chuckle, given it was not sure for a moment if he wasnt the scorer himself. This begs a question - why cant have one secondary assist on his own goal?![]()
That one moment in second period when it looked like powerplay despite being 5v5. Pure sex.I have watched the Avs for many years. I have never seen them play such a dominant game and especially that second period. It was like holy shit! They are on fire and friggin unstoppable.

I think we had fair share of games like this over the course of last 5 years - randomly i remember this year when we played Toronto and won despite being first 1:3 down, then couple of years ago a game Islanders, when we had about 50 shots as well…these were among the best hockey games i ever witnessed.
Personally, i credit this to Bednar. And it annoys me how many people want him gone. Sure, we only won one Cup. We could have been better. Dallas can unfortunately beat us again - hope not, but its possible. And people will be again - DeBoer outchoached him, get rid, more BS. but…f*** DeBoer! And his shitty brand of hockey. If he beats us, its only going to be again by the means of slowing and grinding us down, turning the game into f***ing dull and slow borefest. We are the epitome what hockey should be, not them.
I wonder what's the deal with Necas in the playoffs.we have some underperformers as well:
Necas 0+1
Nichushkin 1+0
I was merely looking at points. Drouin is tied with their top scorer so he's got that going for him.I wonder what's the deal with Necas in the playoffs.
I'd add Lehky to that list. He isn't bad but he just hasn't been the same in the last 2 months. He's missing chances left and right, he hadn't been cold before in Colorado.
Drouin hasn't been fantastic either TBH.
Drouin played the least yesterday by a fair margin. Crazy low TOI considering he's on PP1.

No he was there, he has an assist on Mack's PP goal.He was taken off PP1 I believe. The sole PP we had last night was Mack - Makar - Necas - Lando - Lehk

Did Dallas really pull a Pronger with Blackwood's puck?
That's just low. And exactly the sort of self-own that you try to avoid in a playoff series that isn't done yet.
Its not unfair, but it would be IMO unfair to blame it on Bednar and his "tactics" if we dont. He has us playing the right way. When it does not work, its down to players unable to execute it better than opposing players executing their own plan (which is usually to stop our own).Last night the Avs played with such intensity. That was what I had hoped to see from the get go in this series. I very much liked that the Avs got back to fundamentals. Boxing out to protect the puck, soft dump ins to the corner, crashing the net, not getting trapped in our zone along the boards. So I have to give credit to the coaching staff. The boys didn’t overpass tonight. Passing was crisp and puck management was excellent. Avs played their game, not the Stars’ game, all the way through. Given what we saw, do you think it’s unfair not to expect for JB to at least take this team to the WCF?
Once again cautiously optimistic for Monday.
Dallas is going to play better, we know that is a given. They looked like the Sharks last night. They might also get a Heiskanen return.
That said, I firmly believe the Avs have been better than the Stars at 5v5 through two games in Dallas. Game 1 out-attempted, out-shot, out-chanced and tied high danger chaces. Game 2 they out-shot them and tied in attempts, scoring chances and high danger chances through 40 minutes until Dallas took over in the 3rd as the Avs sat back and stopped skating.
The Avs know how they have to play. Go out and do it in Dallas.
