No, we'll find out today. Is he doing linerushes with the 4 lines, or scratches? Is he doing special teams?
As long as he’s not doing lines with Val :sarcasm:

Ok, that might be getting bit old

Stars are about to start practice and I'd imagine we get some answers on Robertson here soon.

EDIT: Not an answer but he's not at practice:

Also, Heiskanen still not skating with the team:

No Robertson at all at Stars practice.

Heiskanen and Lundqvist skated before practice but didn’t participate once the team got on the ice.

Extremely unlikely that any of the 3 play tomorrow.

It's a third line in name only. Or do you think that Duchene and Seguin > Johnston and Rantanen?

IMO line numbers aren't dictated by TOI but by matchups. I think BeDoer is going to try to load up Rantanen with Johnston to target out 3rd and 4th lines and get them away from Makar and Toews.

Their lines in 5v5 ice-time will be:

Benn - Johnston - Rantanen
Marchment - Duchene - Seguin
Granlund - Hintz - Dadonov
Back - Steel - Bourque

The craziest part is it's not like they were handcuffed into doing this. Jim Nill chose this path. He had boatloads of LTIR money to spend - he spent it on Rantanen, Granlund, and Ceci.
Ceci I could understand being fine on the 3rd pair. But he's their 1RD lmao. Seth Jones isn't amazing by any stretch of imagination, but not going for him could be a real problem for the Stars. He could at least somewhat hold the fort down till Miro came back. Or not going after Carlo. Just downright awful roster construction from Nill.

But I'm chill with it

Yeah, let's wait and see how this plays out BUT their analytics not just since January but all season show a team that can't move the puck well and gets skated/outshot to death in their own zone on a nightly basis because they can't break the puck out.

They EASILY could have used assets to acquire both Seth Jones and Brandon Carlo rather than taking runs at Mikko Rantanen and Mikael Granlund. If you compare that potential roster to their current one at full health:

Robertson - Hintz - Rantanen
Marchment - Duchene - Granlund
Benn - Johnston - Seguin
Dadonov - Steel - Blackwell

Heiskanen - Lybushkin
Harley - Lindell
Smith - Ceci

vs

Robertson - Hintz - Johnston
Marchment - Duchene - Dadonov
Benn - Seguin - Borque
Beck - Steel - Blackwell

Heiskanen - Jones
Harley - Carlo
Lindell - Lybushkin

Sure, you're losing offense from Rantanen/Granlund but IMO that second roster is WAY more balanced.

I'm trying to keep my expectations in check, but this really might end up being "a waste of a week" type series. I just don't see it with that team.
