Burner? Whose? Never been here before. I appreciate the warm welcome. I need help because I believe Wayne Simmonds is washed and team should be prioritized over individuals.
You will find a number of righteous posters who pose as fans who , when you disagree start name calling. They believe this public sight is their possession.
So either get in line or toughen up.

According to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the NHLPA and the NHL:

16.12 Non-Roster Player.

(a) Upon approval of the Commissioner, a Player who is unavailable to play due to reasons other than injury, illness or disability (e.g., birth of a child, attending a funeral) will be designated a Non-Roster Player, and during such period of his designation as such he will not count against the Club's Active Roster limit and his Club may replace such Player, provided, however, that the Non-Roster Player's Player Salary and Bonuses and his replacement's Player Salary and Bonuses are each included in calculating a Club's Actual Club Salary and Averaged Club Salary, and the Players' Share, for purposes of Article 50.

(b) If, as a result of: (i) a Player ("Player A") returning to a Club's Active Roster from Injured Reserve, or (ii) a Club acquiring a Player ("Player A") via a Trade or Waiver claim, the Club would exceed its twenty-three (23) man Active Roster limit then, at the time the Player ("Player A") returns to the Club's Active Roster (in the case of (i)) or is added to the Club's Active Roster (in the case of (ii)), the Club may request Waivers on a different Player ("Player B") and also the Club can simultaneously request Non-Roster status for such "Player B." Such request shall be made in writing to Central Registry, with a copy to the NHLPA, all in accordance with Exhibit 3. Upon approval of the Commissioner, such "Player B" will be removed from the Club's Active Roster and the Club may replace such "Player B" with "Player A" on its Active Roster pending the expiration of the Waiver period set forth in Section 13.18. During the period of time "Player B" is granted Non-Roster status, both "Player A's" and "Player B's" Player Salary and Bonuses are included in the Club's Actual and Averaged Club Salary and the Players' Share for purposes of Article 50. At the conclusion of the Waiver period for such "Player B," if he has not been claimed, the Club must immediately (i.e., that day) Loan "Player B" to the Minors.

(c) The Commissioner may take whatever steps he deems necessary to investigate the circumstances under which a Player is placed, or remains, on the Non-Roster List. If the Commissioner has reason to believe that Non-Roster status has not been utilized properly by the involved Club, or that requests to designate a Player as Non-Roster are or were in any way improper, or if he determines that the Club has used the Non-Roster List to evade the Active Roster limit or otherwise Circumvent any provision of this Agreement, he may take such disciplinary action against the Club as he deems appropriate.

yeah guess leaf fan has already forgotten about the truculence and pugnacity era, teams that played 2 enforcers on the 4th line while intimidating exactly nobody.
I don’t think anybody wants to see a roster like that, however, there are loads of players that are skilled and tough. Tenacity tough. Finishing your check tough. Standing up for each other tough.
You don’t need to be a meathead enforcer, just tough to play against.
We are an easy team to play against and even easier if the top line gets shutdown.

Do not need to drop gloves every game, but a guy like Simmons, when he could keep up forechecked hard, took the body, pounded dmen, blocked shots, face washed when required, chirped, and stood tall. Simmons rarely does any of these today.

I always ride on this guy all the time so I should give credit when he has played well . I just want to say he was great tonight. He should be have been dressed against Boston as well

But none the less, this is the Wayne I imagined we got.

Hope we can see more of that on need basis

I wonder if the key to getting more performances like tonight, is playing him less / resting him more.

Seemed rejuvenated & fired up tonight, coming back into the lineup.

With Blackwell on the sidelines, potentially being joined by Abrusseze, Knies, and even Robertson and Kase, there's no reason why Simmonds should be playing every night.

Coach could still have both Simmonds and Clifford in the lineup (4th line only) and but reduce both of their icetimes by double-shifting other wingers. Might give them incentive to do what they need to do when they do get out there. At least it makes the rest of the team play bigger when 2 tough guys are dressed.

Normally, the idea of playing Marner & co seems like an exciting one

However, I think we've seen in both the CBJ & MTL series that if you ride those guys too hard, especially in physical post season, they look really broken down towards the end. You need to have a 4th line that can swallow some physical minutes that let you protect the upper end of your lineup and push for those preferable match-ups

Until our softie GM starts drafting and developing men instead of boy-smurfs or bigger lads that shy away from contact, this is what we get.
Yeah, I remember all those tough teams of the 80's rewarding the fanbase with multiple cup wins.

I personally try to stay away from paste sandwiches.

Completely agree with this! Id even try Douglas out as a possible tough guy replacement when sitting Wayner
