I immediately notice 2 things. 1) Nobody’s falling down & 2) pucks aren’t hopping off players stick from a hard pass.

Super stiff composites. Skates and sticks. I know I’m old and am certainly biased but the super stiff technology used today certainly affects the game. I get it that the players today can carry more speed and the shots are harder but players also fall down ALLOT & hard passes will pop off the stick particularly notice it PPs.

Anyone besides me ever notice this??

I think this causes more broken plays and injuries (in the case is skates). I feel like overall this technology has gone too far.

I freely admit that i do use both because that’s all you can get now, unless you want the low end stuff.

Since the season seems to be over, I thought I’d toss out my bitch session about super stiff skate/stick stuff.

Just close your eyes when Blake Lizzote is on the ice and all will appear normal.

Yeah, can you imagine his impact if today’s rules applied then? No more waterskiing Gretz halfway up the ice and all that stick in the hands shit being gone - he would have been a total nightmare. Mario as well.

See how he turns inside the turn arc of other players? He’d be even more lethal doing that today. But if he got hit by a modern player in that arc, the force of the hit would be much greater. So he’d have to be allot more physically fit overall if he played today than he was and he was notorious for his weakness as a player.
