I live in California, to watch 82 games legally I need.

ESPN+ Subscription
NHL Network, + Occasional USA etc..

and for blackouts
King's Channel
Knight's Channel (which isn't even offered in my area)
Duck's Channel

are there any simpler solutions for out-of-owners?

Is MSGgo still included for local cable owners?

Get a VPN and MSG+

but MSG+ sounds like it will be riddled with issues

I'm in CA too. It sucks how many games you have to dig for despite having the ESPN+ package. I don't have cable, only streaming. I never really tried to figure out what a VPN is or how it works.

Not sure what your options for cable are but I'm in AZ and get NHL Center Ice Package via Cox Cable. It's about $70 for the season and you get all games including some with both teams feeds.

Thing is for out-of-market almost every game that would be streamed on MSG+ would be streamed on ESPN+. The only exception would be the games that are simulcasted on NHL Network from the local broadcasts which usually happens a couple times a year. On the other side of that coin, the national ABC broadcast games (PBP being done by ABC, not Sam and Joe) will be on ESPN+ but not on MSG+

Out of Market viewers you need:
ESPN+ For: 1) Every non-nationally televised game. 2) ABC/Hulu Nationally televised games which are also on ESPN+ (7 games this year).
TNT for the 5 nationally televised games on that channel.
ESPN Proper for one game Jan 26th vs VGK. Don't think streaming on ESPN+ until archived later that night.
Local Sports Network: For every game the Rangers play against the team in your market. For me that's the Caps so MASN.

Good news is, except for the Oct 4 pre-season game against the devils. I don't see any Ranger games scheduled to be simulcasted on NHL Network which usually means no live ESPN+ feed for that game. That's probably subject to change though.

So, for TNT and ESPN Proper, if you know somebody with cable (doesn't have to be in NY area) that you can borrow their login, you'd be able to stream those 6 games live.

Yeah, you don't need MSG+ if you're using a VPN.
MSG+ without it packaged in your cable provider or somebody you know is way too expensive for the year.

ESPN+
If you have a cable provider you probably already have TNT.
The few off games you can probably stream. (those would be the ESPN games unless that's also included in your provider.

I know you said legally, but I would recommend just getting yourself an IPTV subscription for roughly $12-15 a month and getting everything you need. (Assuming you're not paying for a cable provider)

One thing to mention... not sure if they've launched it yet

But if you have Max (formerly HBO Max), you can add a sports tier for an additional $10/month that will carry the TNT games. You won't need a cable sub. That's going to be huge for the playoffs for those of us without one.

I don't see any games scheduled for NHL Network for any team after the preseason, so that probably means that they have not set the schedule yet. There's bound to be a few Rangers games on NHL Network throughout the season.

Yeah agreed. That's why I had to include the subject to change. Most likely a few. Interestingly, they had a couple of games, I believe last year, where they had their own studio crew (EJ and Weekes) doing the game instead of just pulling from the home team's broadcast.

The issue is -- the better the team gets, the more games get suddenly plucked by NHL network. This was a constant issue last season.

Who genuinely NEEDS a cable provider log in? And has been here a while to establish some rapport and trustworthiness. I can log in to one more location and basically I can get TNT, ESPN, MSG+, all for free as long as you download the apps. Prove your worthiness to the L Dog and I mayyyyyy hook it up.
