$210/mo for cable + internet before tax, $30 of which is sports packages to have both TSN + Sportsnet, minus Sportsnet World.
1.5Gbps down, 150Mbps up. If you're already paying for a higher tier of internet it might be worth getting basic cable + sports packages which should be $25 for basic cable + $30 for TSN/Sportsnet and possibly a bundle discount.

I have access to live games + VODs of past games streamed as part of the package but don't get extended sports coverage ie. TSN+ or Sportsnet Now Premium.

I think the single cheapest way to watch every game legally (though somewhat ethically questionable) is using a VPN and Sportsnet Now Premium. For Jets games if you live in the Jets region you'd change your VPN to an out of market area so that Jets games aren't blacked out. You'd get every game, including the games TSN holds the rights to.
I think SN Now Premium is $30 or $35 and then a VPN should be between $3-5/mo.

This is the way. You can get a good VPN for dirt cheap. Mine was $90 for three years plus a month. Other cheap options are leeching off a buddy or sailing the high seas. Yo ho ho. Not that I do that.

Currently I'm with Shaw, and ours is a home phone/TV/Internet package for about $200/month.

Effectively our cable package is basic cable plus the SN/TSN package added on (and a few oddball picks when our kid was younger - I should see if I can drop those now that I think about it).

I only really follow the Jets, so can't help with general NHL, but usually most games are probably on.

I already have VPN, and theoretically could connect up my home server to do the streaming, but haven't found the need (as well as general laziness)

^^^ This if you're in MB ^^^ - I live in Alberta and I have basically the same package for cable & internet. I just pay my $210 early bird rate for NHL Centre Ice and I get all the games. On cable when they are broadcast there and on Centre Ice when not on network. Plus I get almost all other NHL game. I can't afford the $100 plus tickets per game live, so $210 for the entire season is pretty good and I don't have to worry about driving home afterwards... :)

There's cable deals out there.

I pay $75 a month plus tax for internet, "good" TV package, and a PVR through Bell MTS. The "good" package has Sportsnet and TSN.

I pay $60/month for fibre internet. 2 phone cost me $25 each ($50 total with freedom mobile).

I don’t know a single person that has cable. Didn’t even know it was a thing still.

a few years ago there was a free (aargghh matey, the high seas we go) knockoff “centre ice” program that worked off vlc and a torrent style program. It was incredible but has sadly disappeared.

I’ll keep cable as long as I get a deal like that with a PVR. It’s basically cable included free with internet. All I really watch on it is Jets games.

I am a cord cutter. Use the NHL streaming package + VPN to get around blacked out games. I use Mozilla VPN it's only 5 bucks a month and I would have it anyways to access the US version of other streaming services I pay for.

Another way and I don't do this is using IPTV. You can find people selling it for $20 a month... it basically comes with all sports channels. Lots of immigrant/ethnic communities use this to watch channels and content from their country of origin but it includes literally all channels (HBO, Showtime, premium sports, even PPVs). You can find providers you can buy these from on kijiji or ask your East Indian or Filipino friends for who they use.

I have a few really good places to watch down here in FLA. Unfortunately I think they're blocked in Canada but not sure. If anyone is interested in giving them a whirl lmk

Holy hell you guys get shafted in NA.

In France
NHL.tv is 100€ the season
Fibre and cable is 20-40€ monthly
And a very generous mobile plan is 10-20€ monthly
I’ve read somewhere that only one other country pays more then Canadians for cable/cell. It’s BS.

This is the one advantage of living out of province :D

I just get the streaming out-of-market package, which (I think) was $200 last year. Looks like $250 this year, but I am holding out hope for an early-bird or renewal discount.

The only games I am blacked out for are the 2 against Ottawa and the 2 against Montreal. Ottawa is the "local market" for both teams. This sucked during the Canadian division year: 19 of the 56 games were blacked out! That's the only year I've paid for a VPN

Also, I'm only paying about $100/month for internet here in Ottawa with Rogers, but I have to jump through hoops every year to get renewed at a decent price

Yes, but we get the privilege of having the richest telecoms.

And someone has to pay for all those Rogers Arenas and Stadiums...

Not to mention someone has to pay for the underachieving, overhyped Blue Jays...

Oh, and don't forget... someone has to pay for that horrible broadcasting contract that they bought into with the NHL...

And someone has to pay for our Politicians to look the other way...

Did I miss anything... ?

I pay for tsn direct and low-key hate it - then I.... uhhh.... "find a way" to watch any other games - it helps that most saturday nights I'm at a junior game anyway.

I do really like tsn's doc, and sport offerings, but their streaming infrastructure has been garbage for years - it's a bit better now with plus.

I pay $117 a month for Shaw Direct/Rogers Ignite Satellite. I have been with them 20 years and get more channels than I could ever watch either with my cable box or streaming. The main part is I get all the Sportsnet and TSN channels and get all the Jets games.

With the satellite subscription you can stream live either directly through TSN or Sportnet and sometimes even on the ignite app.

My wife pays the internet bills - Bell in the city and Starlink at the lake so I can also stream games on devices and other TV's that may not have a Satellite Box. I have a nice outdoor set up at the lake and have been enjoying outdoor Bomber games all summer. Just don't have alerts on your phone, as the streaming is about 5 or 10 seconds behind.
